Question Adding Additional Injectors question

When tapping into the fuel line to add additional injectors I should be able to just cut the line going into the rail, right? The reason I'm asking is because that line seems very stiff and I don't want to cut it and **** something up.

It's just nylon reinforced rubber. I cut mine and installed a T fitting in order to install my fuel pressure sensor. Reseal with clamps and you should have no leaks and no problems.

Hey Hobie how did you relieve pressure on the line? Let the car run and unplug the fuel pump or just take off the gas cap?

My car wasn't running at the time. I just took off the gas cap. If you have a problem with that, you can remove the rear seat and open the fuel tank from the inside. I think you'll be ok with just the gas tank cap though personally.

Are you installing an additional injector? I dont think that our cars will be making the power initially to warrant an additional injector. That is money that could be spent on something else. Guaranteed on your turbo setup, that with decent sized injectors, you will have WAY mroe fuel than you will need.

Nonetheless, good luck.

He is not adding the injector to a stock NA Lancer . He is adding it to his '04 turbo set up to avoid any lean condition which will blow sh** up really quick!

That is what I was getting at. I dont patrol these boards as often as most, cuz I have the baby motor, but all the guys I know with charged Mirages have had no fuel problems, with the correct injectors. I am running 460cc's and that is more fuel than I can shake a leg at. Even the "big boys" who are running full EMS are using standard 720s with just 4 injectors. I am just saying that I think that addind like an HKS AIC, that money can be better used to do something else, especially if you are not running more than 12 pounds.

I was incorrect. Two of the big boys are running 780cc and 750cc but both of them are running full EMS.

One of these days, I hope to be up there as well.

Yeah I see what you mean. When I said "standard" i just meant regular injectors sans any additionals.

OFF TOPIC: PGMike, dont know if you would be interested in going to a mirage meet in June or not, in ATL. I will be passing thru your side on my way up. we could link or something even if you dont go.

Off topic: Will keep you posted. We are still in the planning phase. Essentially tho, it is a weekend ordeal: Friday, track runs, Saturday, mountain run and barbecue, sunday more mountains and the trek back to FL.

On topic: Spend AIC money elsewhere. Threadjack over.
