Weak points after rings pistons and rods?

i did a search and couldnt find an exact answer. What is next in line for a weak spot in the motor? We have replaced the pistons and rods and are wondering how far we can go before we break something next. Yeah i know we will probably run out of injector before we break something but i was just wondering.

At higher boost levels, a lot of the Mirage guys run into headgasket problems.... no fix for this really except a good engine, and a good tune.

boost depends on what u do to the engine which i don't know, but i think 9psi is fine without pistons or rods, etc. so with them, u should be able to get it higher just watch for leaks, etc. and don't blow ur *** up. Theres an FAQ somewhere with this **** on it...

Probably rod bearings too, as I know people have spun them and blamed it on synthetic engine oil.

Do they make standard CR gaskets? I thought they only had ones to raise and lower CR. Depending upon material though it could certainly be better.

I believe they have the one that lowers compression, increases compression and stock one.

Where is Mitsiman?

I think some of the people have a bad luck for a rod bearing. Is there a way to provide a stronger one?

And what about engine sleeving? Is it only for a block protection or more than that?

I believe Clevite makes them for us. The issue isn't strength so much as lubrication, because once it is thrown your engine is already ****ed.

As for sleeves, there's really no reason to sleeve (or basically reinforced the block's strength) on most engines. Basically our block is ok on strength and can't really be overbored, so it's kind of pointless for any Lancer I'm aware of.

Cost effectiveness? Sacrificing drivability for big boost numbers? Beats me. I'm nowhere near there. I'd be satisfied if my car ran properly at 7psi.
