Fuel Problem??..Help Needed!

So the problem ive noticed lately i think has to do with the fuel setup. Im running a vortech FMU, Walbro 255, and stock injectors with a t-25 @ 7psi intercooled. It seems to be almost leaning out. It varies when it happens. I have a boost/vac gauge and usually it sits at 20vac @ idle. But lately it bounces between 20 and 15vac @ idle. It sometimes returns to 20vac, so its wierd. Also, when i get on it hard it goes lean sometimes. Ive changed the walbro pump with a new one. I also disconnected the FMU and the idle still did the bouncing thing. Ive checked for vac leaks and havent found any. I checked the plugs and they just seem to be running hot and with no carbon on them really. Im wondering if it could be the injectors......? Anyone had a problem similair to this or any suggestions????

Thanks Guys!!

What do you currently gap your plugs at? Ever tried different settings on them?

arent you running 6's? try running 7's gap em to.30

also, why does your boost or "vac" say lean to you? do u have egt? do u have a wideband? i would never boost without it.

Ive got an EGR gauge that lets me know how hot the internals are getting. Thats kind of funny you guys are talking about plugs b/c after i changed them recently and thats when it started. Hmmmm......but i ran the same plug and gap before and it was fine. Ya im running 6's. The boost/vac gauge helps me with how its idling. I pull the plugs again and check them out!!! Any other ideas???

u really need to start with a wideband, that is the only way to really find out if u are lean. then go from there, change and regap the plugs, and check all that stuff.

also, the air filter may cause issues if not properly cleaned, make sure ur injectors have no leaks, o rings cause issues.

When you took off the coils, "maybe" one went bad... Can someone post on how to check them?

I know where your coming from when you say i need to get a wideband but i can tell its running lean. Ive worked for quiet a few speed shops. From the EGR temps, and plugs, i know its leaning out.

Im going to try the plugs and see what happens.

The air filter is brand new.

Coil pack idk?? I would think i would get a miss fire code if it was cutting out.

Im thinking i may have just overworked the injectors.idk

Dont know how you survived this long on stock injectors. Had you had this problem a few weeks ago, I would have loaned you my 460cc's one day you were at the shop to see what happened. Sounds injector related but without seeing it and hearing what it is doing while it is doign that, is just a beat around the bush.

Shes running alright expect for every once in awhile. Im thinking either dirt got in the injectors or they are done. I put some injector cleaner in and it seemed to get a lil better......... i think. Im going to try and put another think of it in. When i changed the pump there was alot of crap on the filter.

I would think the 460cc's would be way too big! Ive got a RRM piggyback V1 that im not using which could tune something like that but the programming of one of those is pain in the a$$.

Where in orlando do you live killahB?..........im over by the UCF area.

o ya and its about that time for a new clutch too.

When I was turbo'ed, I ran the 460cc's and was able to control them pretty good. A couple other Miragers also running / have ran 460cc's as well. If you think it would help, I can get you a set of 275cc MIVEC injectors, if you think the 460cc's are too big. I think those might be too small, but I dunno since you are running an FMU.

I used to live right by the airport (Conway and Curry Ford area) but now I am staying with a friend right by Boggy Creek.... I heard abotu you years ago from Geo from 'the shop' but whenever I went over there, I never saw you or your car. Hopefully one of these days when I finish my swap, we can link up or something.

I had SAFC / SITC combo ..... on cruise and mid throttle, things were very good. EGTs right, air /fuel decent and loving life. On WOT though, I really should have taken it to Aerocomp or CFT's dynos and done it there.

My friend at the time in Texas was using Emanage, and he was fine for years until about 2 weeks ago when he took them out.
