The RA kit we sell is not under $4000 so don't expect this to be less than 4K for sure. Sorry to burst your bubble but this kit has a ton of extra electronics to it that will add cost to the kits.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys... i'll always be around as much as I possibly can.
As for mileage answers... you should see an improvement when dealing with long trips and locked in cruise at say 65-75mph. At that range, even though you're not seeing positive pressure, you'll be getting way more airflow at a better fuel ratio. That relates in increased hp/tq during cruising with less fuel wasted during load periods... such as hill climbs. As always though... mashin on the peddle is gonna burn fuel. You gotta give to get.
Over 4gs allows the door to open on just putting that money into your current payment / car note and trading your 08 for an 09 Ralliart.
Think about it.
You get a brand new car, again.
You get 4 wheel drive. Something youll never have in the 08.
You get traction control.
You get an intact warranty which is worth Huge Money when gambling against an aftermarket turbo on a new model car.
You keep resale value compared to a turbo'd 08 which isnt going to be worth squat as a trade in.
There is a tipping point where adding a turbo to an 08 turns it into a $25,000 money pit with only the possibility of failing and costing thousands more, or you do the financially smart thing and pay down your 08 with that 4gs and upgrade to an 09 Ralliart.
Yes the turbo's 08 might be faster in a straight line but your paying out the nose in the long run for diminishing returns.
Pricing of this kit is critical in order to maximize sales. Dropping the kit by x amount of dollars increases sales by Y. And who are we kidding here? Markup on these parts are high, very very high.
honostly elpoole, i would rather buy the kit for over 4,000 than buy the ralliart. The current trade in value of an 08 is approx 12-14k i know, i was gonna trade in for an sti a lil while back. anyone who has a loan still of like 16k or more is going to suffer dramaticully on their loan payments if they switched to an RA. Thats not even the only reason why people wouldnt switch. They love their cars, and they take pride in them... Whether they are fast or slow, it is theirs and nothing will change that. Many people have special bonds with their vehicle. i know for a fact that MOST of the people here already have a ton of mods ton to their cars as of the moment, which would bring that trade in down to even less possibly 9-10k.
You could always go loan for the amount that the turbo kit is going to cost, if you dont have the cash. And who ever has an attitude that would rather trade in for a newer factory turbo'd car instead of turbo'ing the car they have already modded, they shouldnt be modding in the first place.
If you are going to mod a car, you never "trade in" unless you are desperate for a specific car.... always sell Privatly becuase you CAN get that $25000 that your car is worth with the mods. instead of like $4000 from a dealership.

im totally in thought process of what i want to do but reality is lets say the kit is like $4,700 shipped, installation is something a backyard mechnic can't do right. So instalation can run another grand so total it can go up to 6k. Thats alot to dish out.
So idk if i would spend 6k on my car or just put it on the loan and sell it to get the ralliart or some other vehicle.
I love my car and do plan on keeping it but i think i might just spend that 6k on a used evo to play around with. But like i said im not sure i still got plenty of time

well its just like rob pretty much said... you can't be unrealistic. Basic price for a full turbo kit for any car including install is around $5500-6500 maybe even more. It's a VERY expensive process when turbo'ing a car.
I don't see why everyone is upset that the price is gonna be more than $4000... If you want a turbo, you should have done some research on turbos... and if you've done some research.. you should have got some prices telling you its gonna cost you upwards of $5000 to get it into your car.
If you're worried about voiding warranty and blowing your engine with the turbo that RRM has made... then don't get it.. simple as that... many people have said this before and I'm sure you've all read it before so you should be well aware.
As for the RA idea... that would actually be spending MORE money than just a turbo if that's your main concern... (ignoring warranty things)
Anyone that was planning on getting the RA wouldn't have modded their car at all anyways... we all knew it was coming...
As for me... I'm sticking with my 08... i would get CRAP trade-in value at the dealership even if i wanted an RA because i had to replace my front bumper... I've started saving for the RRM turbo kit already.... who knows when i'll have enough though... hopefully it's when i have a few more options and maybe some price wars are goin on

I've given up on gettin a turbo. I really like my warranty, so I'm gonna keep it to simple bolt ons. I probably wont go any further then what is in my sig and a header and exhaust. I'm putting my turbo money toward a nice bike, that will feed my speed needs
Oh this is HILARIOUS!
First off, everyone was wetting their pants over this project, and now its priced at $4000 and the kit is done, and...FIZZLE...
I hope RRM didn't rely on this crowd in determining whether or not to develop the turbo kit. If they did, they may have made a slight error in judgement on what a bunch of teenage kids are crying out for them to make. A crowd that could never afford to turbo their daily drivers, and worried about warranties. I hope this kit is a success, but I never posted...I WANT ONE, or I WILL DEFINITELY BUY...

That would void your warranty with most Mitsu dealers anyway so don't worry, you've already voided it when you slapped on that intake and pulley.
