Perfectly reasonable. I'm sure RRM will have one available soon enough.

I will have to suffer through the one-wheel burnouts, since autos can't get LSDs.

I voted to trade for an EVO.
I am trying to put something additional down on the down payment along with the trade in on my 08 GTS.

If not, I will go with the Ralliart and that's it.

I would like to see a supercharger...im all about reliability these days...I pulled out too many hairs with a (aftermarket) turbocharged car being my number one source of transportation... now if this was a second car, or one just to mess around with, I would go turbo all the way, because I love boost, almost more than anything else...

considering this engine was built for FI, I would slap a turbo on(and tune it like crazy to keep nice and reliable for everyday driving since everyone hopefully knows tuning is key), and research converting to AWD in the long term

how about save the 10 grand that will cost and upgrade? not to sound cynical and I do applaud the custom work that would entail but in the end wouldn't you just have a knock off ralliart/evo???

This is the predicament I am in

I doubt that this engine was really built for FI. I'm sure the evo/RA engine will have several different key elements. I'm sure it will be similar to the difference between the 4g63 and the 4g63t. Also s/cs are not by design any more reliable. Thy simply serve a different purpose than the turbo.

Damn. You beat me to the punch AND even used the "4G63 vs.4G63T" example I was going to use!

In the end, we're just going to have to wait and see. With the 4G94, I'm sure it didn't take too long before people went "gee, my pistons melted, I guess they can't take much boost!" . . .

AWD isn't the greatest thing in the world. I had a Subaru. Honestly, I wasn't impressed. I'm back to FWD, you'll notice.

As for "screw the turbo, wait for the Ralliart!" comments, how the Hell does that make sense? Was I supposed to drive around the same beater car waiting for the RA to come out? I needed a car now, I bought a GTS. Also, do we have hard facts on the RA? Not that I've seen. We have rumors about turbo and AWD, but for all we know it'll just be a 200hp Lancer (like the 04 RA was compared to the 4G94 Lancer). Don't pin your hopes and dreams on rumors.
It's all about time. Right now I've got a mirage, running perfectly. Do I want an 08 Lancer, yes! Will I buy it? No. 20K on a GTS + 5K on turbo + 1K on install - Warranty doesnt sound better than 27-29K for a Ralliart. Plus, I'm oretty sure there will be some minor upgrades other than the Turbo and AWD system. I understand that if you didnt have a car and needed one, sure get a GTS. But if u do, then just wait and drive ur old car for a year... it'll save you money, a warranty, and time at the end. Patience. We dont have any hard facts on the Ralliart, that's why I'm waiting. If it turns out it's not worth it, then I'll get a GTS. My gf has an 08 and I'm ok with waiting. Like I said, it's all about what ur situation is at the time.

Also, I dont get how u can even compare an AWD with a FWD.... handling... grip, etc.

OTHER - how come I never see the nitrous option in these polls?

decent mainly bolt on street N/A (piggyback, ram air, exhaust, header, TB, spacer, clean up intake/head)

and a bottle in the trunk.. to the tune of 100hp wet direct injection, and an RPM based controller to make it react more like a turbo or super

ofcourse this is no where near a immediate thing, but it;ll definately start within the first month of the car comming into my possesion (I hate waiting)

Ya well no one really knows for sure yet, most of it relys on how strong the pistons are, if internally it is as strong as my 4G64(basically a 4G63T with some differences) then I will be happy, that engine is VERY strong and will take alot of abuse from lots of boost in stock form.

If the RA is even the 4B11 for all we know it could be the 2.4L variant that is turbocharged, like the SRT4 fugly wagon(Caliber)
