my rrm turbo story

i got a used rrm ic turbo kit from one the guys on this site.
when i got the kit, i was told that i needed a fuel pump and a bov.
due to money problems, i had to wait to get the parts and install it.
one day i decided to ask about the rpw cam and john from speed corps.
he really knew what he was talking about so i decided to ask him if he would do the install.
he agreed and yesterday installed my kit.
a bunch of parts were missing like water lines and couplers, etc...
john was cool and hooked me up.
the final install was a beauty.
i am so happy.
he gave me a great deal and the turbo flys
overall the turbo kit wasn't too hard to install, but wasn't the perfect fit that everyone says.
when i took it for a ride, i was shocked to see how fast it was.
it is crazy that your car doubles in speed.
i have all the bolt-ons and didn't feel anything major.
in a few weeks i am going to install the rrm turbo piggyback ver 1 and i will keep you posted.
if you are thinking of getting a turbo, do it.
you will not believe how fast your lancer can be.
if you live in or near jersey check out john at speed corps.

The first pic is of us trying to lay out the I/C piping. What a pain in the *****. I don't think they were the correct pipes. Overall, considering there were parts missing, it wasn't too bad. The design could use some work because there was barely enough room to bolt up the exhaust.

Yeah, that's one service you have to pay extra for. If you bring it dirty, you'll leave with it dirty.

Man that's awesome. My buddy is getting a used RRM kit either today or tomorrow. So we will be doing this same install. I don't have any doubts about being able to get it together, but I might have some questions. Congrats on being turboed. I'm very jealous

^get in touch with john if you need help, i'm sure he won't mind.

also check out those pics on the site, there is some useful info on there.

make sure you take plenty of pics when you do the install though, maybe a video of the end result

Yeah I saw the website and I definately did need those pointers about coolant and oil tapping spots on there. Thanks. And I can guarantee a lot of pics of our install too.

I would be more than happy to help. I actually would have taken more pictures myself but my temper got the best of me. Missing parts will do that to ya.
