quick questions about some turbo stuff

I am plan on turboing my 02 OZ rally by the end of summer. does the stock evo exhaust manifold fit in our cars? Or if getting the RRM headers would be a better choice. I am buying a 16g turbo very soon. i am considering price and power so even if one is more expensive but will make more power please let me know. also i am looking for some fuel injectors and i found some stock 450cc out of a DSM and I am just wondering if these fit.

thanks.

I would suggest you read the FAQ in my sig, it answers these questions. The evo manifold won't fit, it's the RRM header, not headers since there is only one, be careful with buying the turbo and I'm not sure about the injectors. If you want more info, do a search in the forced induction forum.

If Evo 550s fit, I see why the 450s wouldn't?

You can get an Megan Evo manifold and weld on a lancer flange that'll do the job. There's a thread around here on the topic.

Yeah I plan on buying an evo manifold and then welding on a lancer flange, also I'm trying to figure out fuel requirments and I got a good deal on WRX injexctors, but if I am going with the bigger injectors will i still need a FMU?

yes.
also need a fuel pump like walbro 255. You will need to push more fuel under boost. fmu 12:1 will kick in under boost and your stock fpr will do its job when not under boost. they work together. This is what i am doing with my build.

I doubt you'll need to go bigger than the WRX injectors, those are good to close to 300 hp.

OK that makes sense. I would assume you'd want to go with a proper piggyback unit if you're actually replacing the injectors. A simple FMU won't cut it, the car will be dog rich out of boost.

make sure you get the right inpedence when choosing injectors. i believe that we have high inpedence injectors because we dont use a resistor box like the evos do. wrx 440s work great. they are plug an play. (the blue ones)

yeah they are a little large, but I plan on boosting at 7psi, and then when i get some engine work done pistons, rods, etc. I would like to boost 10+psi. Also I think I am gonna get Greddy e manage but i still have research to do.

I think it's overkill for 7 PSI (and could be a tuning nightmare) but it'll work for 10+ PSI.

they are a tad large for 7 psi but if you ever want to up the boost, you know you will always have enough fuel to get there.

anyone know how much boost is safe to run with 440's? (im getting in rods within a couple weeks and pistons will be on order soon)

440cc should be good for about 300hp, also with the fmu and fuel pump do i need to spend the money on a piggyback for tuning or can i wait until i get pistons, rods, bigger injectors, etc. until i tune?
