i run mobile 1 10w30 full syn. on hot days my oil gets hot up to 200 degrees on my temp gauge. is this a normal range? if i switch to 20w50, will my oil be cooler? thanks

 

I wouldn't be as concerned with oil temp as I would be with oil pressure. As heat thins out the oil the pressure drops. What is your oil pressure at idle when it's really hot? I run 20w50 and my pressure never goes lower than about 17psi at its very hottest at idle.

 

i think its 20 ill double check tomorrow tho. so when the car is running for like 30 mins and your at a stop light, is it normal for it to be on 0? but it goes up when you hit the gas for the oil pressure.

 

Your oil pressure sits at 0? Oh my god no. Run 20w50 ASAP! That means that the oil is too thin for your oil pump to circulate at idle RPM. Your oil pressure should be no lower than 10 at the absolute most at idle. Change to a thicker oil ASAP!
