AEM FPR or Vortech FMU?

Looking for advice once again. My car's being picked up today and it turns out the reason I was losing power at 6psi is because my car was running DANGEROUSLY lean (18.0:1) due to low fuel pressure. Now I need to make a choice.

The AEM FPR (PN: 25-300 I believe) should bolt right onto the fuel rail.

The Vortech FMU (Universal) is just a matter of running hoses and bolting it on.

If you post a recommendation, please give me a reason too besides brand loyalty. Of course, this doesn't have to be from experience with a Lancer...any car will do. I know the RRM setups are running a version of the Vortech and Link had the AEM FPR on this car. I'm primarily looking for differences (if any) in function, but cost is a consideration as well.

Anywho, I'm looking to place an order by Monday at the latest so any help would be appreciated.

hobie i am currently running a aromotive from jegs at the moment for the n/a versoin.....but with previous experience with a 1g eclipse, the vortch fmu had a much greater fuel flow rate than any other at rising boost presures....i hope this helps you out

p.s. get the 12:1 fmu diaphram, also on a custom tb setup, is it ok to run the iiridium plugs on the lancer (knowing that they are a colder plug?) this is my question for u and others

I'm going with your advice. Thanks. Mark at BM Tranny concurred saying it definitely has to be rising rate so the Vortech was the way to go. Thanks ya muchly, Cory.

Yeah, ordering that and a recalibration kit on Monday if not tomorrow. Dunnoo exactly what rate I'm gonna need due to the Walbro FP and 440cc Injectors so I guess it's time to play. Can't wait to get my ****in' fuel situation straightened out so I can actually RUN my car.

Hey Andrew I was about to start playing with 440cc injectors off an Eclipse GSX myself is that where you got yours? I thought I was going to be the pioneer on this, but you go right ahead, I don't quite need them yet, just want to prove I can make them work.

No, my injectors are not from a GSX. You may want to check BuMpS' thread on parts to a turbo setup. I think there's much mention of injectors in there. The problem being I believe GSX injectors are low impedence and our car requires high impedence. There was theorizing on wiring resistors in line on the injectors to simulate high impedence, but no confirmation on if it would work.

I've seen pic's of Hondas with a fist full of resistors hanging off their injectors cuz they ripped them off of a Mitsu. I intend to clear up the confusion for us all.
