Stage II turbo for under $3000

I have a friend who makes turbo kit for Cavaliers, Sunfires, and of course imports, but I asked him about making a kit for our Lancers... and he told me that he could do up to a stage III... Estimate prices are as follows.. he said he is pretty sure that he could drop em after he makes a prototype....

Stage I 2200
Stage II 3000
Stage III 5000...

just wanted to see if there was any interest... im working on him making a prototype off my car... but have to work out getting it shipped and all... but i will get back to you...

what do you mean by your staging, (IE. stage 1 is all parts, stage 2 all parts and intercooler, stage 3 all parts, ic + extre?)? And what sort of approximate HP increases are you expecting? How are you hooking up the system, custom manifold?

Yeah seriously. This is gonna be laughed at as a Gran Turismo thread until you come back with more specifics on your staging.

HP figures are useless, stages are useless. Unless you give a detail of what's in the kit (like an itemized invoice) prices and HP figures mean nothing.

as far as figures he will have those once a prototype is completed and stages are pretty standard... stage I... non intercooled... but full kit... II intercooled... and III intercooled with fuel/engine upgrades.... and he works at a machining shop and does this on the side... and all the piping and what not will be powdered coated pretty much and color... that is included inthe price... hope that helped you guys out and we hope to have the kit up and runnning in about 2 weeks or so... so i will keep you posted on our progress... and he is using a t3... but can be upgraded to a t3/t04...

That's really beyond vague. What is he using for fuel management? Are the stock injectors used? Will the kit require any outside parts? What is he using for a manifold? What wastegate, what blow off valve? What engine management, what do you mean by "engine upgrades"?

if you guys know anything about turbos you should know what a fuel upgrade is... pump.. injectors, fpr... and as ive stated this is a prototype and not something in production yet... he is going to make a manifold for it... and the will be no wastegate due to the internally wastegated turbos... and there will be a few choices for BOVs... like i stated in the first post... just wanted to see if there was any intereste

I don't know what's worse, the attempted insult to our intelligence, or the vagueness that you attempted to insult it with.

What kind of pump? Is it sourced from another car or something specific for the Lancer?

What size injectors?

What kind of FPR? Rising rate?

What kind of BOV? VTA? Recirculating? Brands to choose from?
