Are you talking about using the stock internals?

yes, at the moment I am boosting 10 psi, and apparently I can boost at 12 - 14 with stock internals + gasket + ARP

this is truth

10 psi is really serious. I wouldn't even go up to 10 psi on stock internals its just not safe. 7psi is safe. Now if you change to aluminum head gasket and change to better rods and pistons you should be able to boost a lot higher.

Its not the amount of boost you run that kills the internals, its the lack of strength they possess. The top ring land on the piston is extremely weak and shatters with too much heat. The rods are insanely thin and have broken on people running as low as 8psi. RRM broke a rod at 13 or 14psi and this was with a perfect tune. I wouldn't push past 10psi, even with a decomp gasket and ARP. The stress on the components will get the better of it.
