Tuning my car that is soon to be turbo'd lancer.

Ok well.. i thought i had everything figured out. and who was going to do it.. but after talking to some of my friends about the person they all urge me not to use him..

im sure there great guys, but it got my nerves goin a little after 1 or 2 e-mails with him over some simple questions that he couldnt answer..

so now.. i guess i have a new problem... t3/4 pushing 4.5lbs, will it be safe to drive long distance.?.. (and i will most likely not have a wideband monitoring, for time being)

the guy i was planning on useing tunes evos and other 4g63 eclipse and stuff like that. but.. i asked him what he would be using to tune the car, and he basically told me that i need to bring the cables needed for him to connect to it... (rather confused when he said that..)

what would a normal tuner need to use to tune my car.. ecuflash?.. or something else popular?
Any alternative suggestions on who i should use in Alabama (im in birmingham area) or even atlanta, (if it would even be safe for me to drive it over there).. the guy that i was going to use is in tuscaloosa, i forget there store name, but there site is http://www.speeddreamz.com/

tracy is pretty known in the birmingham area for building some great cars. and they have a really quick dsm eclipse. anyways.. anyone with any suggestions let me know.

O... deadline on tuning is approaching.. i should have everything installe and running on the weekend of the 24th (i think).. intercooling and all the piping is already installed. waiting on a 3 day weekend to install the rest. (all been test fitted already) so i need to figure this out soon..

some pictures of where im at coming soon. (im being lazy on uploading them)

I would say you'd be fine on that amount of boost if you got a walbro 255 fuel pump. But I would also say wait until you have a wideband installed before driving it. Just in case the fuel mixture isn't right for some reason, rather than blowing up the motor.

ecuflash, tactrix cable, evoscan or some other logging software and a wideband. That's assuming you are tuning with the stock ECU.

If a tuner doesn't know about that or have that equipment, don't go to them.

Sounds like a larger turbo for such a small amount of boost.

Why not just keep the boost at 7lbs. You'll be in mostly 5th gear on the highway it won't even be at boost while stepping on the gas unless you decide to just step on it all the time while driving to where your going.

lol ya.. i like the misimoto.. thats the G-line. i thought it was about as big as i could go, but i wish it was even bigger now.. o well. everyone that has seen it says it makes the car look evil as can be.. (actually looks really good in the light)

i have EVERYTHING, but waiting on my wastegate, and turbo mani fits up nice, just need to see if i have the clearence for the downpipe(lol) ya i F* up on that part, i might need to get a new manifold.. but o well. its not a (big) deal.

i like having alot of mechanic friends. they all have EVERY tool i need to barrow

and i guess im gunna have to put my stock oz rims back on. or get new rims(current fake spoon sw's/ rota slipstreams are bent like crazy).. but i dont wanna spend the money on rims when i need/want to be getting pistons/rods.. DANGIT!

16 this time instead of 17s? or just say F* it and use the stock rims again? put the money into the motor instead.. lol

i say who cares for looks! i say performance is better than all show and no go. Our lancers just need some nice rims a lip kit if you don't already have one and a nice drop.

ya well. i got some 17 excel race rims now.. tein s-tech springs. all the strut bars/sway bars you can get. and basically al the suspension goodies possible..

so susension is done, but rims r gone lol..
sound system is done, but im trying to sell it.. cuz im way beyond it now
and im only working on motor from now on. and the bottle is gone now!

i think the OZ rims look fine. and i have the oz lip kit.. so i think my car looks pretty nice. never been a fan of the idea of a show car really.. and i always take it to car meets/shows and get plenty of ewws and ahhs..

its clean still after 7years and 1 month.. cant complain to much.. finally found some brake pads i dont eat through in 3 months.. (lol i have to much fun on the weekends)
