Question About Mods....

Well, me and my father went to the dealer at last, last Saturday...Didn't get my lancer due to the fact that they wanted 17,000 for an es!!!!! Blew my mind LoL... So im waiting till we move to jersey.... anyway when the guy asked if i wanted manual or auto my father said auto and didnt even let me have my say.... so now im wondering if i get an auto... can i still put in a turbo and other mods? how much of a difference would it make compared to a manual with the same mods.... i still want the car whether it is automatic or manual but was wonderikng if i can still mod it up to try and hit at least over 200 hp and make it look good and go fast.... thanx

He doesnt know that im putting a turbo in it LoL.... i'll just say it helps performance a lil bit... the only reason he leans towards a automatic is because he thinks a manual will just break on me or sumthing and he cant drive one but iuts more of you keep messing wit the gears and they'll break on you... thats his issue or what he says to me anyway

Yes you can put a turbo on an automatic, but it will wind up being a pain in the ***.

Turbo Yes
Mods Yes

I have a auto aswell, my father gave me the car and let me take overpayemnts, he covered the first few months and he pays insurance....

I love the car..

I have RMR Intake and RRM Exhaust (goin on wed)

The Horse Power difference id say with certian mods would be minimal...

Turbo on a automatic works good, i believe the supra's that are auto run faster quarter miles....but they have a heavy duty transmission comapred to others...

I asked my friend who is a tuning guru (He has a engine life in his dinning room, lol...) he said the automatic with a turbo wont be bad at all, he said there will be less lag but a little bit less power......

Automatic w/turbo would be no problem at all.....but it won't be as fast as the manual...but for dairy driven car.....that won't be too bad. Of cuz for racer, manual is the best.

not necessarily, along the lines of NYCLancer's post. Supra's in auto can run quicker times with a torque converter because on the giant turbos, they have more lag to spool up, and everytime you shift a manual you release all that air from the turbo, making it spool back up. but auto's don't release the throttle...depending on the driver auto turbo can be better than manual turbo. but yes, there is more power loss to the wheels in auto...differnences in time are all variable on the setup.
