It's streetable...the stage 3 kit will just have incredible turbo lag...it's great for drag racing, but not the street.

i think the best thing to do now is just wait instead of just jumping into the first turbo thats available... me personally im waiting for numbers and some competition.... rrm has there turbo going lets wait and see prices to... more competition means some ones gonna have lower pricing and better quality factor comes into play also, whose is more reliable and better.....

then we talk about shipping and installation charges cause i dunno ish about cars im just learning.....

Tubro!!!!!

Wow i just got my lancer a month and half ago, and there' already a turbo out for it. Guess I should saved that income tax money for a tubro instead of a Sound System.

So who has got their turbo done, and what was involved on you part?

WOW, want to join the debate team. Maybe I can clear a few things up. First off don't get sucked in by numbers. Like computers, 500 mhz better than 400. Right? Right. Turbo kit is more than just numbers. It is a compatibility issue. Lancer N.A. motor does not have piston oilers. It cannot safely handle extreme psi without major internal mods. You will kill your **** fast. A good kit should emphasize this. All the little gadgets that are needed for high boost are $$ too. Parts that you have to make for some of the kits available right now seem to include a lot of stuff, but leaves the difficult pieces and expects to you to make them. Piping is not easy. I have one guy working eight hours a days for five days just to make piping! He has every tool at his disposal too. I cannot in good conscience sell a kit yet because it is not fair to make customer do R&D for me. Plus I know what is envolved in setting everything up. We do not want to sell you guys rope to hang yourself. We offer installs right now that utilize the best and most compatible stuff we can find. We would like to sell a Step One kit that is a solid foundation for the Lancer TuRBO. After that, you guys with extra $ can expand the kit with fuel management and cooling aids like big radiator and oil cooler. This will allow for safe yet powerful combination. (Note I wrote safe first.) Call us for more details but just be careful what you wish for. We have been doing turbo cars for years. We don't just sell parts!!

Is it a 2.5 RS? If it is why don't you get the wrx or wait for the wrx sti? They are sweet cars

The wrx would've cost me $100 more a month and my insurance would be $100 something more a month. Plus my engine is bigger by a 1/2 a liter and is a lot more torquier. So if I ever get my turbo kit it'll be faster than a wrx. But I can get a 1 yr old wrx for $17k so that's what I'm prolly gonna do instead in a few months instead. It's so much easier to mod an already turbo'd car. A 2.5RS is still one of the fastest and definitely the best handling import under $20k

Rob, they are offering major internal modifications though. (valve springs, camshaft) Is Road Race interested in customer R&D on these things? If you make it worth my while I would be willing to try new pistons, anybody thought about boring it out yet? how much do you think needs to be done to go up to 12-15psi?
