272 stage 3 turbo camshaft

Before I even decided to get this camshaft, I've been looking for videos all over the place to see what it would sound like, but I never found any.
So I made a video for those that are planning on buying this camshaft in the future.

I just installed mine during the past weekend.
Valvetrain is really noisy. The idle is stable and is around 900-1000 rpms.

While cruising and accelerating the engine very feels smooth,
only when it is idling is when it lopes.

I lost about 10mm hg of vaccuum, it now sits at 10mm hg instead of 20.

Starting up is no problem when the engine is cold,
but when the engine is warm, I need to give it some gas to start up.
Any one have any ideas on how to fix it via ECUflash?

Anyways, heres the video!

NICE! i actually like the way cars with cams sound at idle. do you notice much of a power gain? you should post some more videos of your car. maybe a drive by and an in car video

My mistake, it's a stage 4. It's been that long...
You can create your own custom grind also. Just let him know.

I have the Fidanza cam gear,
and of course valve springs are required.

update:

the car wants to die after cold starts, (if the motor has not been used, not weather related)
it requires me to give it steady gas at about 2k to keep it alive.
after about a minute or so it will idle fine.

on warm starts its another story,
the only way it'll start is if i keep cranking the motor and give it some gas.

If you have filled motor mounts (front and rear) and you think its bad, wait until you upgrade your cam

I've searched around the evo forums and it seems to be an issue with large cams.
The start up issues can be somewhat improved under the IPW cranking enrichment table in the ECU.

I dont mind the vibrations also, just a heads up for those that complain with 1 filled motor mount and cry about it

yes i have the same camshaft in my car that you do and it it lopier when it idles but that is a tuning issue that you have all you need to do is tweek you fuel and you will be all set. Did you degree the cam when you put it in? RPW recommends that you do that did know that until i had already installed it. you will be happy with it you should also mess around with retarding the cam gear from what rpw says yuo can get a pretty good gain by retarding it a few degrees but should only be done after degreeing the cam
