Oil feedline source? Looking for pics..

Hey guys, I'm trying to get an idea of where it is that I need to run an a/n fitting above my oil filter on my 4g94 motor for my oil source for my turbo setup?

Does anyone have pics of there setup and how you ran your lines? It'd really help me out.

thanks

There is also the way of doing it without a sandwich, which is what I will be doing.

livelyjay:

14. Unbolt Oil Plug
There is bolt located right above the oil filter that is used for the oil feed line. This requires an 8mm hex wrench to remove. Put in the wrench and bust it loose. FYI, this is a 3/8 NPT plug, so get the right fitting for the feed line.
So, if this is right, I've got a 3/8 npt to 4an that will connect up to my 4an braided line, and then that will connect to my 4an banjo on the turbo (which has a 12mm bolt, meaning the "standard 16g oil fitting")

*EDIT!!!!* upon further inspection/research, the 8mm hex may be 3/8"bspt and not npt. If this is true, the fitting I have will not work, so please don't buy this until it's determined which thread is correct.

That is the method 03lances and steven121 have used, yes. Both agree it's solid, no leaks so far on 03lances, just lube it during install like you would your oil filter. I'm not going to have an oil temp or pressure gauge, so there was no need for me to have multiple openings like that...but solid method I think.

Yup thats the one. I just thought it seems simpler than having to run an elbow after you connect your feed line to that hex bolt above the filter. I have not leaked a drop of oil since the install. Getting ready to do an oil change on it here in a couple days and the oil still looks really clear. I personally think its looks cleaner too. Here are some pics. That downpipe was one solid piece like that before I had the exhaust shop cut out a section and weld in some flex when I had my exhaust put on.

Good stuff!

Yeah, I think I'm going to go the same route as you did with your oil feed 03lances

Damn! The bottom of that oil pan looks like it took the brunt of an explosion! I chose to use an elbow to the accessory feed. Nothing leaked on my end also.

But as a side note, after years of the adapter being into the feed it seized up some how and the nut is stripped so I cant quite screw it out.
Its not a problem though since I just went up to Home Depot and bought a screw in plug for it for $2. Gotta love Home Depot!

Sure I have pics in my build thread I think page 26? pretty sure I have my return line pics there. I marked the pan while it was still on the engine and the turbo was on. I can post some if not after I get off work

ok so since i went through hell trying to get oil feed measurements im going to clear this up...
this is for 4g94 with evo turbo

3/8npt to 4a/n adapter
3ft 4a/n ss braided line
12mm banjo to 4 a/n adapter

much cheaper to go this way than sandwich
