running lean after a turbo upgrade?

Are there dangers to running too lean after a turbo upgrade (specifically on a lancer)? The turbo would be supplying more air than before, so the fuel:air ratio would be unbalanced. On other cars, I imagine that you could chip it to compensate, but since we can't on Mitsubishi's, is there a legitimate risk of running too lean? Would the MAS be able to compensate for this? If the MAS can't compensate, what are our options? Thanks.

you should PM Boni or Zlancer (im not sure if thats right for the other guys name, its somethin like that) since they have turbos on thiers... especially zlancer cuz i think he was actually havin a problem with his air:fuel ratio

You may not be able to replace the ECU, but I believe it is possible to use a piggyback or fuel control system to correct the situation. Hope that helps? And yes, Mitsubishi solders their ECU's and has since '94 from what I've heard.

EDIT: Should help

This is exactly the reason that with most turbo kits, you receive a set of larger injectors, that flow more fuel in the same amount of time.

I am putting a Haltech in with my turbo upgrade, along with high flow injectors. I will let everyone know how it goes, shouldn't be too much longer. Definitely you will run lean if you TC your lancer. these things run fairly lean anyway so you really need to add fuel.
