less restriction limits boost?
so say i slap on a turbo kit. out of the box it'll run 6 psi nonintercooled, right? well say we lose some of the restrictions on the intake side. p&p intake manifold, 60mm throttlebody, 2g eclipse MAS or gm mas with translator or hks vpc, and all the electronics to run it all. now we're sucking more air than stock under the same 6 psi of boost. though it's still 6 psi of boost, can the engine take on the higher intake of air? would we have to lower boost, or can we run the same boost?

i think what happens after u free up the air flow it runs more boost automatically and u have to set it back down to 6 or something, not sure. i hear EVOs sayin they run stock boost at 19 and after they get cat-back they run at 22...i dont know if they are messing with it or not, i think if u ask some Evo ppl they'd know, but im sure Hobie or Boe could tell u also.

Basically what happens is the increased intake air volume is seen and extra fuel is added. This doesn't affect the turbo as it still should be at 6psi... what this will effect is spool as more volume in means more volume out thus you should be spooling a little bit earlier depending upon volume. More importantly you will be getting more fuel and air in combustion chamber meaning higher hp/tq. You basically are using the turbo more effectively in terms of cfm flow and volumetric equivalancy. Its a good thing as long, as Guru del already stated, you have the fuel to compensate. Otherwise you'll go lean and thats bad in more ways than one.
