I'm not sure about that.. the hacker/tweaker kit doesn't come with all the piping, so you'll have to order that from them too, or get it custom done

This is from the description of the hacker/tweaker kit on RRM's website.
This is a great start to either non intercooled or intercooled turbo setup or for guys that want to do custom piping etc...
I just ordered a T25 turbo, so next I gotta order the hacker tweaker kit when I get payed. Its gonna be a couple months I think till I have everything and am ready to install it.. but it will be fun this way. I can't wait

Ok guys, I have a couple more questions

I have ordered a T25 Turbo, and a Blowoff Valve. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that the 4 main components are: Turbo, BOV, wastegate, and exhaust manifold. (And intercooler, if going that route, which I'm not.. for now.) plus all the piping and hoses and stuff (gonna get the hacker/tweaker kit from rrm for most of that.) Also, from what I've seen, some turbos have an internal wastegate? so I might not have to buy one?

Also, could you clarify something for me please? If I do have to buy an external wastegate, and I get one with a 6 lb. spring, that means I'll be running 6 psi of boost, correct? Which is a pretty safe amount for non-intercooled, correct? If I choose to install an intercooler, then can I just install a boost controller to increase my boost? or do I have to change the spring in the wastegate too? What is the max boost that should be run in a non-intercooled/intercooled lancer? and what mods will let me increase that?

One last thing! What exactly is this stage 2 upgrade I'm hearing about? Do they use a different turbo? Put different internals in the engine? How much money/work to go from stage 1 turbo to stage 2?

Thanks for everyones help! My Turbo'd lancer isn't soo far off in the distant future anymore.

You're on point with the key items. Of course downpipe is essential too, but well...I don't think anyone's running an open turbine exhaust. As for WG, buy one with a 6lbs spring. It's usually adjustable for a range of a few lbs (5-7, 7-9 etc etc). Depends upon the type of WG I think. Anyway, you can always get a boost controller and use that to raise the boost while keeping the softer spring in there. MBC's are only like 50-150 bucks.

Not sure about the stage 2 stuff. Best to e-mail, call or wait for Boe to someone to field that one.

I agree with Andrew, you are on the right path. As he was saying about the wastegate, yes get a good external. Tial, HK$ or some other. If you are already inquiring about stage 2..... I would get one that holds more than 9psi. That way you will not have to invest in the same upgrade twice. You may not need it now but.......already asking this question? I have been reading on James' lancer (nice ). They have been running stage 2 on his. It's making, last I read, 220whp shooting for 250. It seems stage 2 would be around or above 9psi.
