Need radio help!!!
Ok so i have a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer DE and i have an aftermarket radio ( Kenwood BT362u) and ive done everything. I have wired the harness correctly, reset it, everything. The radio doesnt work. The weird thing is is it gets power, as in if i press the cd eject button it will eject a cd. But the problem is i hit the power button and no display pops up at all. Gets power to eject a cd but no power to display and obviously that means no buttons work. Please help!
You have two 12VDC inputs - one is 'always powered' for saving the settings and the clock time and the 'main' which is powered with the key 'on'.
The Lancer main and memory power wire colors are not proper industry standard (yellow and red) -make sure you are using the Lancer wiring diagram
The CD eject feature may be powered with the radio off via the clock/settings power (check the radio owners manual). That might be why it works without the radio coming 'on'
Your problem is probably the 'main' power wire.
Did you check the actual radio fuse (on the back of the unit)?
Did you check the car 'radio' fuse?
Put a volt meter on the radio main power wire - does it get 12VDC?
Check the grounds (less likely that it is the issue - but not impossible).
Lastly, pull the radio and hook up directly to the car battery posts (Bat and Grnd) and see it comes on. If not - bad radio!
(and next time post in the audio forum - more people will be able to see it and help you
)
