Question Is it worth it

Hey out there. I had a question on the whole RRM non ic and ic turbo kits. I have noticed that there is about a $1200 differance in price. I realize that ic are good on higher boost cars but these kits are running from 5-7 psi. Is there that much differance in the kits and performance wise or not. One other thing is would it but possible to add a intercooler to the non ic kit later. being a father of 2 $4100 is a lot to dish out if the performance differance isnt that great. But on the other hand I want to be happy with the kit. Because $2900 is a lot to spend and not be happy. So I'd appreaciate any opinions out there.

well yes its possible to upgrade your kit if you go non-ic, and i am pretty shure most of us on evom understand your concerns about turbos and whether its worth it or not. Its a question that plagues a lot of us. To boost or not to boost? To go Turbo or to go Supercharger? If you want to stick to traditional turbos I highly recommend the RRM kit. But right now they got a sale going on and you could get it cheaper. If you want more bang for you buck go Ripp Mods Supercharger that is what I am going to go. Its new and unique right now on the market. Also even though the stage 1's and stage 2 kits boost about the same psi you get different horsepower gains. For example stage 1 could give u like 5 whp for every lb of boost but then ic could give you 8 whp for every lb of boost. So there you have it, my opinions and answers that i tried best on to answer your questions. If i am wrong please correct me.

Depends what you look in for your boost needs. I do not feel sds is best bang for your buck only because , well you get your peak power at differnt times.

* wish sdhtown was still on these forums * steve raid it right and best when he gave his explaination on why he wanted a turbo and will go turbo over and over again over the supercharger. I suggest that you, 2BB read up through these forums about US Lancer forced induction and just think about what you wanna do.

If money is an issue and u just want speed ASAP i reccomend going non-IC from RRM. Only because it can be easily upgraded at any time and RRM has boosted many lancer's as of right now, and the only time a blown engine has occured with RRM is b/c someone was stupid and set the PSI level too high. Dont listen to RIPP when they say, u cant blow your enginge with the SDS becasue anything is possible if you set the PSI too high. And plus its only been out for about 5 months, so not everyone has had a chance to fool around with it.

I feel, it is worth it too boost, its just your call on whether you want turbo or sds.

thanks vic and IIlancer I appreciate the input. as long as I can upgrade the non ic I will probably go that way. I dont know but I think its tight that RRM focuses so much on the lancer most companies I have see you would think a lancer is a gremlin or something on that order as far as finding after market parts. what I would like to do is to get the non ic kit and later get a ic and rods and pistons to add. I see the dyno ####'s on here at 171hp which is really modivating. Well thanks again
