Way too small dude. You are going to need something a lot bigger than that even for low boost. To get any kind of decent airflow out of them, you've gotta 1 bar+.

Most people are using T25's, T28's (most popular), T3's and T3/04 hybrids. I think there's a 14b or two out there too. I'd personally recomment a T28 or T3 of one sort. Try checking peoples' registries and searching through the forums if you need more info.

BTW to answer the original question: There's really no reason I can think of that any normal turbo couldn't be made to work on any combustion engine, however the most important issues that come into play are the spooling characteristics. The T28 is a good size (if anything just slightly on the small side) for our 16v SOHC 2.0l. If you intend to go big on your car's build then it would be beneficial to go with a larger turbo and slightly more lag (if any depending upon the setup). Unless you're rushing to get a turbo on your car (which I would NEVER advise) take the time to read...a LOT.
Learn to understand compressor maps and get outside input. Read other peoples' experiences and digest the information at hand. There's a whole boatload of info out there at your fingertips, and you need only take the time to sift through it all. Good luck.
