MY EXPERIENCE!! from RRM to ADFX racing
whats up everyone heres a story you all might be interested in.... so along comes RRM with the turbo kit for our lancers yipee!! I buy it and was satisfied with the power it put out. And of course i was hungering for more because my friends have great cars such as mr-2, vr-4, wrx, rx-8, 350z. and wanted to be up there with them and just for fun maybe beat them lol. dont get me wrong the RRM kit was the kit to have and so i had it. unfortunately i sold it to mark(qtlancer) for an experience to not remember. I take my car into ADFX racing..and have a kit made for it. and 6 freaking months later i get my car back..excuses after excuses from the owner Lateef screws me over. the parts are looking great i give them that, but my car was dirty as hell, the paint is all rough sandy like sandpaper, and most of all runs like ****, i think a stock lacncer can take me. DO NOT DEAL WITH ADFX RACING!!!!! It is a BS A** shop. Me being a fool i pay them the money for parts only and he couldnt even get me the right rods. So i was stuck with a T3T4 custom kit and they had the advantage of putting in the rods port and polis/head was done but who gets the wrong rods??? lol Im so fed up with him. Oh wait theres more..when i sold my RRM kit to Mark some parts were still missing like ADFX re used my oil line and forgit my walbro pump and vortech fpr from the RRM kit. I dealt with the wrong performance shop so beware.. Now i have my car back i still have to get it tuned in get the right injectors and make a few more adjustments that AMS is helping me with. And THANKS Rob for helping me even though i sold my kit away that all i needed was a stage 2 kit to be done. So it pays to be patient and watch who you deal with. Im reporting ADFX RACING to the BBB and try to get some money back What do you all think. So to RRM keep up the good work they know what they are doing I feel stupid for going elsewhere after RRM had spent all thier money and time R&D for our lancers. I will see what happens to my car in a few weeks. otherwise go for broke fixing it up
its an experience to forget!! updates to come if car runs better. thanks for taking the time to read this.

What rods did you get? Are they in your'e car? Does your car even drive? Man that sucks, at least you got all the parts though, all you need to do now is to get it tuned. I would suggest buying the AEM EMS from liquidlancer. And goto AMS and have them tune it for you. Well good luck, later.
There are a lot of experienced shops out there but none that really specialize in the Lancer (US.) Over these months I was monitoring your sit Omar. Sorry it did not work out. But like the "Prodigal Son", we will take you back into the family.

damn bro........ that sucks. sorry for you troubles. hell yeah if i were you, i would report them to the BBB. you'd be surprised at how crazy they get, and how they hound you. my neighbor had the BBB breathing down his neck because some guy complained that his radio was fried at his ( my neighbor) detailing shop. radio is worth what? couple hundred if that?and to top it off, it was his first complaint ever. well imagine if you called reporting ADFX. i say go for it. i know its frustrating, but dont worry too much about it. everything will work out in the end.
thanks all for the input...even Rob is still helping me out
so that says alot..i appreciate..im trying my best to get
my car running with the help of RRM and AMS especially
and to those out there too you know who you are..we
will wait and see its a waiting game now....ADFX even
forgot to close up my fuel tank in the back seet damn
pupm was floating and gas has spilled when i filled up
before taking it to AMS...my car was filthy too the paint
is like sand paper..still love the piping but it means
nothing til the car gets tuned up!

i guess my little chat with them did no good. that's great publicity ADFX, nothing says a good shop like delaying install time by half a year, not finshing up the job, swaying from the contract, promising things that could not be done, etc. Not only was this an act against law, this was an act against morality.
Every shop out there should have some kind of care about their customers. ADFX does not, obviously. If they did, every customer would count. If you put something together and you have one screw left over, you'd open that thing back up and start from the beginning until all screws are used. ADFX definately did not. This is like making apple pie without apples..what's the point of even doing it then ADFX?

You can't expect to go off the beaten path without tripping over a few rocks (no pun intended). Trust me. Decide whether to cut your losses or keep going. Pick one and stick with it. Don't look back.
If you can afford to pay for tuning (you must be ok with downtime to have gotten this far) the EMS is an awesome computer. I'm sure there are other ways you could reach your goal as well, but what it comes down to is how you want to reach them.
I assure you the following means no disrespect to RRM because they've helped me out hugely in some situations from regular orders to tech posts and discussions with Rob on the forums. When I was having my turbo "kit" built I didn't want a kit. I saw things I didn't like on both existing kits (RRM and RPW at the time) and I wanted something that would be able to provide everything I wanted and more. Well, needless to say I ran into a lot of hiccoughs. I hit a lot of snags along the road including fuel pressure problems, fouled spark plugs, hugely rich spots (8.8:1AFR) and hugely lean spots (15.7AFR in boost) could be attributed to the fuel pressure problems as well. Tuning was difficult and expensive. An FMU didn't help the fuel pressure issue. All the problems along the way made me learn a lot more. Everytime I didn't like the way something was running or working I'd read. Using the EMS taught me more about ECU and EFI than anything before it had even come close.
Now that I'm in the tail end of a complete teardown and rebuild of my motor I can say I still don't regret going my own route. Half the **** I did simply nobody had the ***** to do before me. Not only have I learned from my experiences (both good and bad), but I'd like to think I've passed a lot of that on to the community as well. I'm not saying I'm the most adventurous and ballsy person around or anything...that's certainly not true. I also don't have an overwhelming surplus of money (though I now have a healthy amount of debt
), but the thing is there's simply no progress unless people are willing to pioneer a little more. You'll never get very far if you only take small steps. Take a running leap every now and then and expect the worst. The worst thing that can happen is you don't land on your feet. That's happened to both of us Omar. Now just figure out what you have to do to get back up...or know that it's time to throw in the towel.
I for one hope you continue with the car. I don't pretend to know your financial situation or anything about you, but I do know I'd love to see this car when it's finished. Don't be afraid to try new things. There are plenty of people here who can help steer you along your way too. You learn from my successes and mistakes and I'll learn from yours. Good luck and godspeed.

oh no doubt i will continue my journey to complete my project and hit my goal this is just a look out for lancer owners about adfx racing. i will definitely try to finish it up as stressful as it was going through that kind of service from a company that made the front page of turbo magazine. i did manage to get a hold of 550cc rc engineering injectors from RRM and they are even helping me out thanks for the consult ROB lol..appreciate it very much. I did tune with AMS and they found it very very lean. even with the aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and 440cc injectors and of course 255 walbro. besides that im back on path on getting my lancer running strong. AMS is getting me in on thier tight schedule to get my ride going. we will wait and see what happens to be continued...in the mean time vacationing for now
Cool. Good luck. I wish I could drive out to AMS and see what they're all about...but I have Turbotrix only an hour away, and my car doesn't run anyway so...
Glad to hear you're back on the right path...too bad the right path is always so expensive.
