I've been playing with different subs...I have to say the new line of Rockford Fosgates are astounding, especially if you remember the mid 90's garbage. I personally went with one of the T1 12's.. they also have a t2 that does 1000rms, and more, according to my install shop.

Phoenix Gold stuff is awesome, JL audio is very good, Audiobahn is kinda hit or miss in my opinion...some of their designs are unbeatable, and some of them you pay too much just to have a flame basket.

I used to run a PowerAcoustik 12...it had a 270 oz. magnet and stomped like God doing the riverdance...unfortunately, it had problems with the magnet being that large, and eventually the ohm load got all jacked up.. 2ohm dvc that had one side reading 2ohm and the other reading 1100 ohms!!!

If you want just one sub that can provide all the bass you need, I'd suggest stroker, orion (they're still here), or the new RF line.

Id say go with Kicker Solo X if you want major bass. I just got a 8" Kicker L7 and it is awesome. It's brand new and is only being broken in at the moment, so I have the gain down low and I'm only running 250W to it cuz of my amp and the thing still hits like a cannon. I couldn't even imagine what one 12" or 15" Solo X would sound like. My car would probably fall apart.

I should be askin you that question. Honda is known for great build quality and long life of their cars. Mitsu is known for voiding warrantees for shifting over 5k rpms or installing an aftermarket BOV. My civic with over 90k miles is probly just as structurally sound as your 92 lancer (and faster too).

You drive a lancer...what do YOU know about quality?

p.s. it's an 02.

p.p.s...damn, my 02 has almost 90k miles.

They are bad *** subs. Produce some high numbers in competitions. Divine sounds here in Tampa runs them all the time in comps.

www.ddaudio.com has everything you need to know. if you order it from them, you can get it made however you want. any impedence/voice coil configuration, cf dustcap, whatever if there is a local retailer that has them you can get them right away. if you order direct from digital designs, it is a little cheaper, but plan ahead for a little wait. i had to wait about 3 weeks to get my sub, but it was well worth the wait.

at the moment i have one of the new boston acoustics subs in my car, and i have been extremely impressed with it, as well as all the ones i've put in customers cars. for the money, a very very good sub a G2 10 will easily outperform a jl 12w3v2 or an alpine type R 12, and the bostons cost way less
