Getting new speakers
I've finally decided to get new speakers.
Kenwood KFC-1789ie
The 3-way KFC-1789ie features a 7" silver pearl mica injection-molded polypropylene woofer with rubber surround, PEI film dome midrange and tweeter, 10.1 oz magnet, gold-plated speaker connectors, a frequency response of 25Hz - 30kHz, and handles 220 watts of power.
SPEAKER FEATURES
- Finish: Silver, with Black Basket
- Frequency Response: 25Hz - 30kHz
- Image Enhancer Technology
- Impedance: 4 ohms
- Magnet Weight: 10.1 oz
- Midrange: 1-3/16" PEI Film Balanced Dome
- Mounting Depth: 2-1/2"
- New Center-Post Feed Design
- OEM Replacement Speaker Fits Many American Vehicles
- Power Handling: 220 Watts
- Rubber Surround
- Sensitivity: 92dB
- Speaker Connectors: Gold-Plated
- Tweeter: 3/8" PEI Film Dome
- Woofer: 7" Silver Pearl-Mica Injection-Molded Polypropylene Cone
The cool thing is, the MSRP is $150 for a set, but I'm getting them for $30 a pair brand new.

You wouldn't believe how much price gets marked up. I have a part time job at Best Buy which allows me a 5% over at cost discount. For example, an over $500 CD player would only cost me less than $200.

and Decks dont have *that* much markup...
Yes they do, I just picked up a Pioneer DEH-P8600MP Head unit for %50 cost brand new. I don't work at a store, I know a guy, ya know?
IMHO the prices are too high on this stuff, I rarely ever pay full price on a unit.

Yea.. my friend works at best buy and gets that same discount. He priced out a 2000 dollar system and got it for around $800. Huuuuuggeeeee markup. I buy from ABC Warehouse (michigan) and they sell car stereo stuff nearly at wholesale. I saved 300 bux on my subs/amp/box with install. =D
