Help me take my dash apart!

Alright ladies and gents...

How easily does the dash come apart? More specifically, the plastic part above the radio. Will that just pop off like the plastick piece to the left of the gauges? Can anyone who's taken this off to put in a tv or something please help. I'm trying to gauge what I'm getting myself into.

The reason for all this is that i'm trying to install a TV somewhere in the front middle section of the dash. It's the 6.5" detachable one by Pioneer. Any ideas on where? I was thinking maybe putting the cradle in front of the center, right vent (and not using that vent, but that would kinda suck). My second idea is installing a bracket that would be like a lip that sat right above the clock (in the gap between the plastic and the upper dash). Any thoughts? Good idea? Stupid? What did i overlook! Thanks guys.

I was wondering about the same thing - I thought of maybe doing a custom holder and putting it in front of the digital clock in between the two vents, but I am not too sure
let me know what you are going to do and post some pics afterwards

I'd get rid of that damn clock if I could find something better to put there....It gets dusty too quick and I can't read it when it's sunny out...POS...

Well, I finally finished it up. Personally i think it looks pretty sweet, but you guys can tell me what you think. I'll post pictures tomorrow cuz i'm so damn tired from doing it.

One damper in the plan though. The Pioneer screen has a built in safety feature: it has a wire that needs to be connected to the emergency brake signal. The same signal the lights up the "brake" lamp when you put your e brake up. So how do i get around this!! Where can i find another signal on the car that is constantly on that has the same voltage. Btw, i measured the voltage to be -0.05V! What the hell am i supposed to do with that! HELP!

one real simple solution, drive around with the ebrake slightly engaged. if you prop it up slightly, before it even clicks, it shouldn't do too much wear to your drums and will light up the ebrake light...then again if you drive far and long with it like that, you are likely to start to wear them pretty good.

or you can go to a pro car audio shop, and pay some installation dude to hook it up for you so you can drive. it is actually law that says that you have to have the video stop while driving (which is the reason for ebrake thing), so you gotta find someone willing to sorta break the law for you.

Alright, my bad. The solution is simple. I searched the net and found out that i missed the obvious. You just ground it. Hella dumb huh. I just connected the "e brake wire" to my stereo ground and worked just fine.

To take the plastic part of the dash off:

Take the A/C controls off and the squarish piece of dash that is around the radio. There are two screws for that plastic dash part, and the rest of it just pops off the way down. Use a cloth and a flat head to pop it off and it'll work just fine! hope that helps.
