capacitor

Can anyone tell me or post pics on how to install a capacitor

+ from battery -> fuse close to battery -> + on cap -> + on amp
- from chassis -> - on cap -> - on amp

So the capacitor has its own ground wire seperate from the amps ground wire and the power wire is connected to the capacitor then goes out the other side of the capacitor straight to the amp. And howmuch is that thing to charge the capacitor.

Correct.. Most capacitors you buy in the store will come with everything you need, including that little resistor thing. (most are already built in) I was at circuit city the other day looking at them, and I saw one with a built in volt meter on top, in which the resistor was already in it, so all you have to do is just plug it in to your existing audio setup.

hey, this may be off subject, but since were here...

if i turn off the car and my cap is still reading voltage (digital cap) is it hooked up wrong? it reads the voltage but it slowly goes down untill it dies out.

Thats what capacitors do.. they hold a charge. It will take a while for it to die down. That is normal. =]
