Hey someone posted the mother of all radar detector/jammer websites. All the questions are answered at www.RadarTest.com
They have proved the effectiveness of all the detectors, and V1 is not the best, its close Escort 8500 is best and if you cant afford them then Bel Vector 9xx (made by Escort)series. And they tell you why the 'passive jammers' do not work, they seem to take pleasure in proving every one of Rocky Mountain Radars products as pure horseshyt.

I personnaly own and installed a k40 undetectable unit, to an officer there are no visible signs only two leds on dash, this unit
also came with a tag cover for the front of my lancer " this frame
defracts the incoming laser, in turn making it invisible to laser.
I drive about 120 miles a day and it has not failed me yet
I also commonly drive in virginia where they are illegal, and no
tickets yet.
If I get a ticket they will pay it!!!

the only downfall to the k40 is price, mine cost me right at $600
but I also installed it myself, which involves removing both bumper
covers and mounting sensor in each.

We all have the ULTIMATE radar/laser detector... our EYES. And if you disagree with that... then I have another suggestion, USE YOUR BRAIN!!! Dont speed... thats the ultimate gaurentee not to get a speeding ticket. That gaurentee has yet to fail me in my 3 years of driving. Sure I speed sometimes, but that doesnt mean im always going 80 in a 40 zone... or 100 on the freeway. Use your sense of responsibility people... dont go spending $400+ on radar detectors that give you a false sense of security. Thats just my 2 cents on this issue.

again, will they pay for the increase in your insurance when you get pulled over for doing 100 in a 55? i think the $200 fine is peanuts compared to the cost that your insurance will go up over the next 3-4 years.

i have a whistler and it works alright. but i do have to agree with Kareem on this one. if you don't want to get caught, than just don't go fast enough to get caught. i'm not going to say don't speed at all, cause than i would be a hypocrate, and i'm not. i speed all the time. i have just learned when to go hella fast and when not to. come on people, it's not worth loosing your lisence over, is it?

Best defense against speeding tickets: A little sticker from supporting your local police department. That almost guarantees you a warning instead of a ticket, because they don't want to risk loosing yearly financial support. If you can't beat em, join em, so to speak.

Well, one of the people who posted here was a cop (I'm too lazy right now to look up who). So to you, do you find that these stickers make a difference? If not, what do you use to decide between warning and ticket? I'm curious and I'm sure a few others are, though I'm sure the reasons differ very widely from cop to cop and department to department.

i'm not a cop, but i can say this:

i have a family member PBA card. my mom has some stickers on her car, and a sherrif's hat in the back. cops have often asked about these things, and though i'm not 100% sure but i think that it swayed their decision to not give a ticket or even a warning. cops don't want to do the paperwork as much as you don't want a ticket, so unless you really give them a reason, or they are having a bad day, just be nice, friendly and cooperative and they might let you off. having those things (pba cards etc) may help make the difference if they are 50/50 about giving you a ticket, but if you get a bad cop, or he's havin a bad day, he could A. take your pba card and not give it back, b. take your card and still give you a ticket, c. throw the pba card back in your face and give you a ticket plus another ticket for something he didn't even pull you over for......

it all depends on the cop. there's no 100% surefire way to avoid a ticket besides driving perfectly and following all the laws.

unless of course you have one of those solid metal gold plated family member pba cards, then you could murder someone and get away with it. well not really........

here they have quotas, a minimum number of tickets to give, and they are more than willing to beat those. They do bet on who will give the most tickets and the one who will get the one for the highest fine. And I'm not joking, not everyone does it, but many of them.

For sure if you're a pretty girl and start to cry when he pulls you over he might let you go, but if you're a young guy, forget it he'll be more than happy to give you that ticket.

I don't hate cops, I hate stupid cops that gives speeding tickets when you're f¤¢¬£¢ing alone on the highway at 4am on a tuesday. Instead of giving tickets to the one driving dangerously in trafic. The ones that give a stop ticket even tho there is nobody 3 miles around.
