there is no way to disable the n2, I suppose you are speaking of the Pioneer Avic n2, correct? The avic n2 has an internal gyroscope inside it that can sense if the vehicle is in motion and cannot be bypassed like other units. I am sure it could be done but that would require taking the unit apart and voiding your warranty.

A) It's illegal
B) It's extremely unsafe
C) Check this thread at CarSound.com - http://www.carsound.com/UBB/ultimate...;f=18;t=009291

Looks like somebody will do a hack for it. Expect your warranty to be gone...

AVIC-N1 doesnt have that feature. It has the e-brake wire that you *can* attach to ground, although I definately don't agree with it... nor do I install any like that...

The avic-n2 has the built in feature just like the other guy said. But there is a software hack for it. I don't know where to get it but i know it's out there.

Yes it can be done. And yes it is illegal. You do not need to purchase any software or anything like that. If you want to know how to do it simply pm me and I will send you the info...or anybody else for that matter

This monitor has the video linked with the gyroscope so it can tell when you are moving, thus disabling the video portion of the monitor. I'm sure there are other ways that it can be done, but the one I know is reversable, and just involves hooking up some existing wires...

lol
its not illegal except in a few states and unless your in alaska "16 million dollar lawsuit over it last year" go for it. On the n2 there is a silver sticker on the bottom. peel off this sticker and there is a resistor labeled r164 or something like that, simply jump this resister and voula, no more gyro controlled unit.

jump the resistor...do you mean bypass the resistor, I havent heard of doing that, but I am pretty shure that it will void any kind of warrenty that came with the product...I would simply run the video thru the back up camera...works perfect and dosent void warrenty

You can also drop a piece of solder inbetween the two contacts on the underside of the monitor, under the silver tape...very tricky though..
