Stereo questions...
I want to put this in my car... any suggestions, comments, or anything to add? Also, any idea of best box design for best sound (and to show off woofers... if possible) and still retain as much trunk space possible. Thanks in advance...
JL Audio 1000/1, 450/4, 12W7's (2 of them)
Alpine IVA-D901, PXA-H701
Focal 165 K2P's, 165CV's
Optima Yellow top battery
Upgraded alternator? (If so how much output?)

Nice setup... I was going to go with JL, but I dropped the idea for two Digital Designs 9512e
. But, just like your setup...get the biggest Alternator you can, plus I am going to use a 5 farad cap with it. Good luck with the setup. And don't forget to get some pictures of the final install up here!
Good Luck!

subs in fiberglass, one on each side, sealed enclosures, towards the back from the wheel wells. amps sunk inot a false floor, with the power distrobution on the sides at the back, ground on one side, power on the other. battery in the spare tire compartment. DSP hidden away under the false floor.
forget the rear speakers, run an active front end.
drive it up here and our shop will do the install.

Fiberglass false floor is definetly the way to go. You could make a custom "bathtub" for the spare tire well for the subs to fit into and put a wood coverplate over the top of them. If you look in the Showcase Audio thread, you will see my setup. (the yellow one with red neons on the 1st page). I could put another coverplate over the top of that and have just about as much trunk space as I did stock. (I just haven't made another cover for it yet). It grabs alot of attention at car shows and IMO sounds the best. (meaning fiberglass box gives the subs a nice sound.. like they are almost part of the car). Its weird.. you would just have to be there to hear it. I also dynomatted underneath the whole trunk and lid.. very few rattles if any.

take a look at the size of the 12w7 and you will realize a false floor isnt possible, at least no flush anyway. I had a 13w7 and it was way too much so i sold it.
2 12w7 is overkill in my opinion. Just get 1 and run it off the same 1000/1
