Hook Up?

Hook Up?

im going to hook my own amp up but want to keep factory radio so i was wondring if any body eles has done this and if so what did you hook amp remote wire to.....and where did you run the amp power wire? thanks for any helpfull comments

just curious but why you wanna keep stock stereo its not very powerful???

cause i like the clean look of factory. and i dont like how after market sticks out or has a gap

me and my dad did that in my Sunfire days. We wired the Subs amp to the speakers in the back (had to disconenct those speakers cause they couldnt keep up with the amp) the sound quality wasnt the best and we also had to buy an audio filter to hook up to the amp cause it made some funny noises. All in the all it was okay, but i'd def. invest in an aftermarket deck with the audio imputs in the back so you can use thicker gauge wire for higher capacity and better sound quality. Im no expert, but it worked for that application. also blew a lot of fuses. good luck

what are you going to power with the amp? subs or new speakers?

ok ive done with my car before i got sposored.
Its very easy really. If you need directions just email me at Bichin2006@aol.com
to give you a quick knkow how all you need is a remote cable power cable grounding cable speaker wire and thats it.

im hooking subs up...i have all the wiring and every thing just wanted to know were to hook remote wire and were is a good place to run the 12v wire from battary to inside the car.....and if any body has spliced into the factory speakers to get signal to amp

I ran my power wire right alongside the wire for the hood release. It goes along the left quarter panel and you can drill through a plastic boot to get inside the car. I've got a pic in my registry of the finished product, and feel free to PM me with any other questions.

i had my stuff pro installed, they installed two 10's and an amp to my stock HU...ill try to find out how they did it
