new plan 4 system

ok well im gonna go with 1 sub and buy a component set for the front i was thinkin infinity since i have 63.5's in the rear but they are a biznitch 2 fit in i think.. and run a 5 channel amp to power all of them plus a sub. wel heres my problems

1. what kind of component should i get(any kind price doesnt matter)

2. what would be the best amp

3. are 5 channel amps any good i mean if you look at most the specs on them the 5th channel only pushes like 150 watts RMS and that sucks.

don't get a 5 channel amp.

components look at boston acoustics and mb quart, not sure if image dynamics makes component sets to fit but they are real good ****.

amps get a 4 channel amp with suffecient power to push the front and rears. then get a monoblock amp to push the sub. good amps are zapco, phoenix gold, jl audio, alpine.

as for sub, IMO this is the least important piece. get something that can handle the power. again image dynamics is good, eclipse and infiniti perfect.

ok so im on the infinity site right and im lookin at components. so i see the kappa i look at it and it says
Specifications
MSRP US$: $349.95 System
Power Handling, RMS: 90 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 270 watts
Frequency Response (±3dB): 45Hz - 21kHz
Sensitivity: 90dB
Impedance: 4 Ohms
Mounting Depth: 2-3/16"

now the reference (which is cheaper right) says this

Specifications
MSRP US$: $229.95 complete system
Power Handling, RMS: 90 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 270 Watts
Sensitivity: 92dB
Frequency Response (±3dB): 53Hz - 21kHz
Mounting Depth: 2-1/16" Mid/Woofer, 1/1/4" Tweeter
Impedance: 4 Ohms

now doesnt it look like the reference is better???

how big is the 4 way amp?

I always think if your pushing more than a 1000 watts, then you need a cap.

cap will help produce nice tight bass. what a cap does is store power until your sub needs it, then it releases it and recharges. this is good because normally when your sub asks for a burst of power your amp has to pull it from the battery which A. takes time and B. drains your electrical (dimming headlights with bass hits). for a 500 watt system a 0.5 farad cap should be suffecient.

The infinity reference speakers cant go as low as the kappas
Frequency Response (±3dB): 45Hz - 21kHz
vs
Frequency Response (±3dB): 53Hz - 21kHz

means the kappas are better.
I've got them actually, and I couldn't be happier. They're great.

For the components, I'd run these...

TS-C160R
6 ˝" REV Component Speaker Package
Really nice speakers, great frequency response, and I have pioneers in my door now, so I know they fit with no problems.

For the amp, you're gonna be hard pressed to find an amp that puts out a good amount of power to the speakers AND a lot of power to the sub. Its usually one or the other. If you are bent on getting a 5 channel, check out Alpine. My friend had one of those, a V12 I think it was... VERY NICE. He just ran a 10" sub off it, and it sounded great.

Best amps overall really depend on music preference, and what you're running, so that's kind of subjective. I like the looks of the new Pioneer amps, and their Premier series got some REALLY good ratings from Car Audio mag. Soundstream, and Planet Audio are really nice as well.

For subs I'd run JL Audio 10W7 x2 running a phoenix gold amp bridged ($$$ but IMO those are the best amps).

For highs I'd run AVI components and an amp for those (phoenix gold again I love 'em)
