I've been thinking about that addition; but my total won't max out over 1,000 watts any more. So, probably not; just a 1.2-1.5 farad cap will suit me just fine. Batterys are definitely a good item to have; use Optima or Stinger batterys @ $120-150.

its a more powerful alternator that you need. capacitors are only used to try and keep the voltage to the amplifier higher the 11.4v to prevent amplifier clipping.

as for a second battery, you'll need a battery isolator to control which battery to use and which to charge back up from the alternator.

Has anyone tried to see if a Mitsu Endeavor alternator works in our car yet? Thought that it has a higher output...

www.excessiveamperage.com

Those are 2 good high output alternator builders. Its going to run about $350-$400 for our cars.
