Greetings. I would really appreciate any advice on what to purchase for a 5.1 system. I don't want to break the bank but I want decent quality and the abillity to play dvd audios as well as DTS and dvd discs in 5.1 in my 04 Ralliart.

well in my car i have the alpine MRA-D550 dolby digital/DTS theatre amp for the 5 channel surround, and 2 alpine MRD-500 sub amps for the .1 bass channel. this is all being run by the Alpine IVA-D900 DVD multimedia head unit with screen. Sounds amazing thanks to Alpine's superior sound quality and with that system i only have 2 3' rcas going to the sub amps, the theatre amp runs optical straight in from the head unit! the theatre amp also has the dolby digital 5.1 processor built right in with tons of options for tuning sound perfectly. all the features and MSRP can be found on the alpine site www.alpine-usa.com if you have any more questions just pm me and i'd be glad to help!
