Subs leep cutting off
Subs leep cutting off
So this is the problem. When I turn my radio up, Subs hit hard, hit nice, but at some point, they will cut out for a second or 2, and come back on.
I do have another problem of the fuse blowing, but i replace them, and try not to turn it up so loud. But this time, they just "go off" or "cut out" for 1 or 2 seconds, and come back hitting hard again.
Anybody know why it does that?
AMP- Kenwood KAC-7202 1100W
Subs- x2 Sony Xplods 1300W Each
Cap- Power Acoustik 2.0-Farad Capacitor
Box- Q-Logic 12" Dual-Chamber Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure
Headunit- Pioneer 50w x4
*NOTE: Battery is in trunk. Not sure if could be problem*

I'd assume the "02" part of the Kenwood KAC-7202 is the fact it's 2-channel? If it is, what ohm rating are you throwing at them subs? What ohm rating are the subs? And, of course, re-check all your grounds and wiring behind the HU...
You either have a power supply problem, meaning a power or ground connection is faulty/loose. The output would likely be reduced across the board so I doubt that.
or
a blown sub. Your sub can be driven beyond linearity at high volume causing the voice coil to touch the motor structure and sending a dead short to the amp and causing it to shut down. The signal returns awhen the amp sysles and frees up the sub until you do it again. Maybe

You thought that the gain knob was a volume control and louder is better and you are clipping the **** out of the amp and going into protect because you overdrive the input stage. Does your volume control go up to 60 but the system is really loud at 20? Is the bass setting +infinity (as high as it goes)? THese are all symptoms that typically cause what you describe.

it might be the AMP going into "safe mode" if it has one. I have never had this issue until I turn it up really loud. As in loud, I mean making the cars next to me shake.
Believe me, I keep it loud, but it hits nice and hard. But if I go louder, it hits even better, but then at some point it will start shuting off for a couple of seconds.

theres also an amp cut out on the radios i believe, when you hit a certain Khz i believe or Mhz w/e the term is the radio will cut out the subwoofer part of the radio. ive read on a lot of pioneers that this is the reason for subwoofer cutouts, maybe u need a better radio or u could call tech support on it
