New components

I've had these installed for about a month now but finally got around to making a thread about it. The speakers are 6 1/2" Polk DB6500. Took about eight hours of grueling work, but it was worth it. The crossovers are hidden behind the dash and the amp is in the trunk. I had to rig some mounting brackets designed for Chrysler/Jeep vehicles to get the woofers to fit in the 6 3/4" holes (apparently there aren't any Mitsubishi mounting brackets in known existence in Arizona).

Here are some blurry pics taken at 6:30 at night from a RAZR, shrunken from 1280x1024 (the shutter speed on those phones are atrocious); i'll take some better ones during daylight.

One other thing: if I could've done it all over again, I would've mounted the tweeters in the kick panels for a much better sound stage...

I had to run two sets of 14 Ga wire (for both woofer and tweeter) for each door. Having to fish each wire through the small rubber housing was the most frustrating and time consuming part of the job, but it looks a lot cleaner than poking holes and running the wires on the outside.

I know what you mean by grueling work and especially finding brackets. I ended up making my own in a metal shop. I installed two sets of Alpine type r component speakers in my car. I put the tweeters up by the door handle though. The rear deck speakers were a pain as well. There isn't much room to work with having the rear window crampng the space to screw. But in the end, well worth it.
