wire guage problem

so i bought the installation kit for my amp i bought from a friend (Rockford Fosgate 301M - Rockford Fosgate Punch 1 Ch 900 Watt Amplifier) and i mistakenly bought the 4g AWG kit when the terminal on the amp only supports up to 8g AWG. of course i learned about this after spending 2 hours following Murch's installation guide.

i could go return and exchange the kit, but that would mean ripping it ouy of my car again, but since i have all the wires in place already, is there anyway i could splice or do something to the wire to make it fit in the terminal without it damaging my system so i wont have to go through the whole installation process?

Oh no man! Keep it! Just get an appriopriate wiring prong on the end to attach to the amp. Screw down type terminal? Go anywhere, Best Buy, Circuit City, any stereo shop and just ask...

Hope the install all goes well!

If you trim the ends down to fit, you're not taking advantage of the larger guage anyway, so if it's a lot cheaper, i'd say exchange it...

Just go buy a distribution block. These typically have a 4 gauge input and 8 gauge outputs. If you ever add a second amp you'll need one anyway.

trimed 4 gauge= 6-8 gauge
or exhange for 8 gauge= dis installing the wiring, then re wiring it and if u ever get a bigger amp or another your gonna need 4 gauge anyway

all depends what your plans are and what u feel like doing and a distribution block is a great solution too
