Exclamation help on deck removal

hey i want to take out my deck to try and clean it or get it fixed. i was wondering on how to pull it out of there, first i know i gota take that silver surrounding thing off.. anyone can tell me how? do i just get a flat head and try to pop it off??

another thing is i was wondering if it would be ok to use my stock radio for now until i get a new deck/ old one fixed.. i have sub and amp, will it get messed up if i run the stock radio?

If the interior is the same as the evo Pull the heater control knobs off and theres a screw under each one holding that piece in. You can use the stock deck but you need a line output converer they sell them at best buy for like 30 bucks. Im running 2 mtx 12's and an amp with the stock deck.

Take the bottom pocket out... There are two screws that goes up to hold the pocket in. Then there are just clips holding that in.

After you take all the screws out, including the ones in the climate controls and such. Put your hand underneath where the pocket use to be, and push out... to pop it off.. Or you can just use a flat head and scratch your sh... but I would rather take the extra 2 min of pushing it from the inside.

edit:
Another way you can do it is by sticking your finger in the gap where the climate controls use to be and pull.. Just be careful this way, because you might flex it too much.

and another tip... Start at the corners.

batmanlee has the right idea. But the way I get mines off was to pull at the holes for the knobs then kinda rock it gently tugging at it and pushing it back in a little. It usually works the top out enough to where you can jam your finger into the sides and smash the bottom part in using your finger as a leverage point to pop the top out. Ya it hurts but just man up and DO IT lol Good luck!
