need some direction.. regarding alternator
I live in the Louisville, Kentucky area ... and I wanted to bump up my stock alternator by having it rebuilt and rewound. I have called a number of places and have been unable to find any that perform rebuilds on alternator... they are happy to sell me a new one.. but nobody that rebuilds let alone bump up the output amps.
Anyone out there in my area know of some place ? Or know a place that I can send the alternator off and have it returned rebuilt and modified ?
Its starting to look like I will have to buy a refurbished unit or new... was hoping for the less expensive route...

There are a couple live threads out there now that this is a topic of discussion. The guy even listed the company, a name, and a ph # I think too!
