my new stereo won't output sound...help

i have an 06 lancer oz and i installed an alpine head unit in it. i got the wiring harness and wired that up with the harness that came with the alpine. connected everything up and the face of the deck displays everything perfectly. everything works...except sound! i noticed that on the harness that comes stock in the lancer, there's only 4 or 5 wires into it. i'm almost positive this is the problem, but if this means i have to connect speaker wires individually, where under the dash are they? or if there's something i'm missing, please enlighten me, i'm getting frustrated.

Double check that factory harness, cuz obviously 4/5 wires won't cut it! 4 wires alone from the 4 speakers...so something is wrong. Guessing you had a factory HU in there before this and working fine?

there should be 8 wires for speakers, 1 igition, 1 power, 1 ground. Minimum. then there would be remote, dimmer and stuff like that

yea, i figured it out. since it had an infinity system installed at the factory the setup was different somehow. i didn't have the right harness when i installed the new head unit. i returned that one though and got the right one. everything works now. all the sound output, instead of going through the usual harness, goes through this round connector with rca's connected to it. next will be rewiring from the amp to the sub--i ain't leavin that dinky infinity setup in there lol
