What would you guys reccomend? I would like a remote start too.. I've looked at the Vipers and the Hornets and they seem really good.. I just wanted other opinions.. Thanks
Python & Viper are pretty much the same thing... I think even the remotes are interchangeable for certain models (like the 871XP). Both are made by Directed Electronics. You can visit their website http://www.directed.com/Products/Security/Default.aspx to compare.

Just curious how many miles you have on your car? I've called Mitsu customer service 'cuz I was about to buy a remote start for a friend's new lancer & they said that the remote start could potentially void the powertrain warranty if the problem is traced to the remote start unit. I had it in my old car ('03 OZ Rally) & had absolutely no problems. I'm just giving a helpful warning. If you're past your powertrain warranty (believe it's either 30k or 36k miles) then go for the remote start w/o hesitation. I don't want to see you lose a few thousand trying to fix an engine issue over a $400 remote start system, if it's not installed correctly.
I just talked to a local guy at Circuit City & he said that the install price is figured into the alarm price, but you'd have to buy a component for $50. In my area, w/everything necessary (including 6% tax), it would cost $450 or so, not the BS $560 the guy told you. You should talk to the manager, or go to Best Buy & get a similar Viper system. Best Buy says install included http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....&type=category on 771VXR (similar to Python's 871XP).
Circuit City website also says install included in price:

I used to work at a Circuit City & we (me not a whole lot) were some lazy bastards. People would just say bullsh*t so they wouldn't have to deal w/people (say something's not in stock, just so they wouldn't have to look for it). Good luck though!
