Need help quick:Will these speakers fit

http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...&lang=en&tab=F

It states on crutchfield.com they will not fit but does not say why. Can anyone confirm otherwise?

I assume you're talking about the side panels of your doors. 6 1/2s will always fit, when concerning the diameter of the speaker. I would double check the depth of the speakers though and compare that with a measurement of your current speakers.

Good choice in speakers. The type-s are nice because they offer great sound quality for the price and they even have a better sensitivity than the type-r (if my memory serves me right).

You won't have any problem putting them in the rear deck. they will drop right in without a problem. I just put the type-r's in my car about a week ago.

The only thing i can really say is that if you plan on amplifying the speakers, i would recommend the type-r's. Both the s and r can be amp'd, but the r's will sound a lot better.

If they are being powered by the radio then using the type-s is just fine.

I bought some pioneer 6 1/2 speakers for the rear deck, the factory speakers are the same size but the screw hole molding makes its size larger and hole bigger on the car. I only have one screw holding the pioneers on. How can I fix this?
thanks.

Use a drill with a skewdriver attached (aka 90degree adapter). Center the speaker in the hole and use 4 self tapping screws to make your own holes.

I would but the speakers that I have if centered wont reach evenly around the hole for me to drill. I'm guessing I need a bracket like the one on the factory speaker or larger speakers. Would 6 3/4 work?

ok my bad, i misread your post. you can do either one, go to a bigger speaker, or just get a bracket. now that you mention it i remember i used brackets on my car.

alpine speakers come with brackets (that are actually for chrsyler vehicles with a 3-screw setup) that i just cut to size so they would fit nice and pretty.

i guess i need to stop having those after work beers before i start reading the forums

i put those in the rear. i'm gonna put the type-r components up front and run all 4 off an alpine 4 ch. Well, now that you got me talkin about my system, i'll give you a brief overview.

pioneer 7900 headunit (i like bluetooth, what can i say)
alpine 4 ch amp
alpine monoblock amp
2 alpine 12" type-r
ipod cable
sirius
dei hd tuner
1f cap
and you already know the speakers

viper 5900 2way alarm/rs with...
window control mods (front and rear)
ultrasonic sensor
audio sensor (glass break sensor)
digital tilt sensor
backup battery

i think that should just about cover it

I ended up going with some punch 163c. I was able to get some self tapping screws in to hold them down. The area I could not get screws I just used some zip ties to hold them down. Not the best way to do it but no one will see it and it holds them just fine.

Is a baffle strong enough to hold up the speaker and run screws through it?
