but the reason i push kicker is cus i get around 75% off of it lol

If you look back in this section, you'll find an old install thread of mine with kicker amps, they were ok, but they overheated way before any other amp I've ever had.

I used to do tech support for kicker, but I stopped shortly after the soloX came out, they make nice stuff. Part of the reason that I'm using sony for this build is so that I can murder everyone who uses the "top end" stuff like DLS, Focal, Audison, Sinfoni, Genesis, Helix, Brax etc... all the hardon brands that everyone pays an arm and a leg for just so they can say that their amps sound better.

Looks like this will be one sick setup, regardless of the "quality" of amp you are using. Keep us updated with more pics. Good luck

Love the amp rack, Sass!

Btw, if you happen to remember the beginnings of my build...it's slated to be finished some time in 2012.

7 month old baby = no fiberglass time

that's the only reason you think it's better than sony, kicker is good but there are other brands for less money that do the same, if the only reason that you comment on kicker then maybe you should keep them to yourself. Anyone one can install a throw in a kicker or RF, JL, MTX, or JBL amp but are you setting it up like the op? prolly not.

lol dont like sony. its not really the fact that "an amp is an amp, as long as you have the right power," its if the amp is CEA-2006 compliant, meaning it actually puts out what it says it puts out. Hifonics makes badass amps but sadly they arent compliant, so they put out a little bit less than what they say they do. idk about sony amps, but if it isnt compliant, that 900 watts will really only be like 600 MAX. that is why all those bigger brands are so expensive. all of kicker, jl, memphis, etc. are CEA-2006 compliant, meaning a kicker Warhorse DOES FOR SURE put out 10,000 watts RMS, AT LEAST. you get what you pay for

I think people get too caught up on the price/name of an amp over the sound it produces. If it costs $500 more it has to be better right?

Right now I have 2 Kicker CVX 12" subs and a $120 Power Acoustiks(Sp?) "900 watt" amp and it sounds amazing. I am sure it could sound better, and hopefully soon I will changing that amp for a Fosgate 1000 watt mono (Only because I also get discounts at work for some stuff). I have a part time, second job at a Home Theater company and I think Bose speakers are good but way over-priced. We sell Klipsch speakers for less than half the price and I think they blow Bose away. Nothing against Bose... they do amaze me with the sound produced by such small speakers, but I think they are too proud of them. Sorry to go off track but I was trying to give an example of lower priced items being as good or better then their expensive counterparts. Take what you want from the info.

BTW... I can't wait to see that car finished! Good job!

Did you use just one layer on the floor or several? I'd like to reduce road noise in my car but dont want to add excessive weight.
I guess what i'm askin is that 200 hundred pounds of damping material one layer on the floor, or several layers?

Looks good by the way, you rock that sony!!!!
