refuse to install sound system?
ok so i want to install aftermarket speakers + amp/sub into my 08 lancer gts, i don't know much about car audio, or installs, but i do have the following parts:
4x JBL GTO627 6.5"inch speakers (two front speakers and two back speakers)
1x Alpine MRV-F705 1000watt stereo/mono bridgeable high power car amplifier
1x Phoenix Gold 10" Subwoofer (R10)
1x Bassworx 10" Subwoofer Box - Black(BGP10BK)
(note: i plan to keep the stock deck in the car, i don't want to get a aftermarket deck for my car)
i go to my local "car audio store" for a quote on a install and they tell me they refuse to work on my car if i plan to keep my stock desk? they said they need to get a device to connect the the stock deck to the amp, which he didn't explain what it was, just that it'll be expensive.. AND even if i decided to get that device, they would still refuse because someone tried to install aftermarket sound system into their 08 lancer and they broke the stereo and it cost the "car audio store" 3grand to replace/repair.
has anyone else encountered this problem ?

well i know that most stock decks do not have the the RCAs in the back of them so that you could hook up your amp. so they would have to tap into the back of the deck, and if they dont know what they are doing they could easily damage your system. i would go to someone else thats a bit more experienced with installs cause it doesnt sound like they know too much.
Why do you want to keep the stock deck? It wont work as well w/your new setup as a good aftermarket one would. Stock deck may not be able to handle the power from the sub & amp, or at least will make them sound like crap.
This sounds like BS... the other part more reasonable.

and will it make it sound THAT bad?
you would have to get line output converters to do wat ur looking for. idk wat kind of shops are up by u but i know my shop will do them. look around im sure you can find a shop that will do it. if the shop you brought it too broke one then i wouldnt really want them working on my car anyway. i would look at the mtx req5 to do your system with the stock radio.
Then hold off on doing this until you can do it the proper way.

A line level adaptor is not the answer. The speakers themselves are probably low level impedence. These take less power to operate from the amp.
Converting them to line level will kill any sound quality you could get and probably sound worse then your stock setup, maybe just louder, but worse if you catch my drift.
The signal coming from the deck is just that, a signal. It is way to weak to connect directly to an aftermaket amp.
I would get a new deck and be done with it or leave it stock. I have tried many times to make a system sound good in a similar scenerio and it is never good. Adding an equilizer just gives you the method to minipulate poor sound to begin with and will never sound right IMHO.

obviously you havent used a cleansweep system or a 360.1 system
i have heard them and i know what im talking about
the sound quality was perfect on both
