I used to have an MTX amp and remote bass control knob running to it, hid in the ash tray, but ive replaced it with an audiobahn amp, they both use a phone jack style plug for the remote bass, except the MTX plug is fat like a convetional phone plug, as opposed to the audiobahn one that is thinner like, the phone cord that runs to headset of a phone. i was wondering if there is a way to switch the plugs and have it work. i have the material and tools needed to switch the plug size, im just not sure on how the wiring needs to be, if it needs to be changed or what not.

Okay... so they're both standard phone style jacks, the only real difference you've noted is the size and shape of the wire? If so, just check the pinouts on 2 wires... they should be similar, and if you've got both bass control modules (most are usually the same) just check the circuitry. They should be almost identical. If so, they're interchangable, if not... well, you could make them interchangable... but check it out first.
