My dealer installed a Lo Jack security system in my lancer. Its embeded somewhere in the car and only the dude who installed it knows where it is, not even me but it is only good if someone steals your car because it notifys police and gives them the location of your vehicle.

 

yea, i think that the lo jack offer was given to all people who purchased lancers. I got it, and so did a friend of mine who purchased a lancer

 

No lojack for me....my dealership installed Force Tracker, which they claim to be better than lojack. i think it's all the same crap but it does come with a warranty that says if they dont find your car they buy it and buy you a new one.

 

I wasn't offered anything like that whatsoever..

 

You know I really don't want them to find my car If it gets stolen. Rather have a brand new car.

 

if the car is parked inside a enclosed area the signal cannot get out. My friend has lo jack they found the car 3 days later stripped and dumped in a ditch by some woods.

If the car is parked in someones garage the signal cannot get out. I think its useless. By the time they find ur car itll be stripped to the bone or totalled.

 

yah it happens. something like that happen to my teacher's kids car. oneday she went to a club, somewhere in downtown L.A. went and park her car. by the time she went back to her car she can't find it, call the cop and she got a new car from lo jack i think. the funny thing is a day or two later the cops found the car it was in the next parking lot over.

My car had something else on it. They were trying to charge me $700 for a small number on the window. That's it. He even said it was just like loJack (yeah... right). All cars already come with one for free. It's called the Vehicle Identification Number. And he tried to put an extra one on there for $700?! I laughed at him!

 

I think you must be confused, your Vehicle Identification Number is just your VIN and ALL cars come with that for free. The etching on the glass is another form of security called...."etched glass" heh, it saved me a couple hundred dollars on my insurance. I believe that comes on almost all new cars. The thing he tried to sell you was the Force Tracker. I believe all lancers have the FT installed, just not set up. It does save like 10% on insurance, well for me at least. hope this clears up your confusion.

 

Lo Jack IMO is one of the "best" mods that you can get. It reduces your insurance by some insane amount like 20% and it also garantees that you get your car back, whether it be in pieces or stripped or untouched, you still get your baby back

 

will lo jack is good but there is a different system out there and it is better then the lo jack.

 

lojack is the best, its not run on a satalite its ran on police radio. The cars are recoverable anywhere, if the car is not located the lojack was removed. They have had recoveries in trains, boats, trucks, garages, etc. etc. etc.
