ground?

2 questions

1 is it necessary to hook up the ground wire from a pioneer wiring harness, if the factory harness should already be grounded

2 if it is needed, where is the best place to ground it too?

Im assuming you bought a wiring harness to hook into the factory harness. Correct? cause if you did then you would realize that you have to hook up lots of wires from the factory harness including the ground to the radio harness. ok maybe 7 wires. The way you stating it just seems like you didnt purchase one. If you didnt then go and buy one.

If you want to make your own ground then ground it anywhere that is all metal(with no paint or goo or other junk) that goes to the frame.

either way yes you must hook the ground.
