Question HD Radio? 09 lancer R-F System?

Not sure if I'm in the right place to post, but I saw on my 09 lancer gts with the rocksford fosgate sound, there was an HD radio light on the display. And it also shows it in the manual, but nothing about it is mentiond neither on the net. So is there hd radio on this stock rf system? Do you need an adaptor? It's been bothering me sience I've seen it lol!

Thanks!

The mmcs seems to have the same thing, it's also shown in the manual but nothing is descussed about it.

I wonder if HD radio only shows in cities that broadcast in HD. I know we don't have it in down but then I usually listen to satellite radio.

I thought hd radio was like channels in between channels but I wouldent think the stock antenna will be able to do that.

hdradio.com has more information. It's not much but clearer sound for your radio. Not a big deal

I looked up the hd stations in my area and I went to the station and it's just the regular one, I can't get to the hd one with has a -# behind the station. Kind of like the digital and hd stations on tv with a digital tuner.

I replaced the stock unit with a JVC HD radio in my '02 ES and it works great. Stock antenna, just had to splice in power to the antenna to get AM reception. Several stations have 1 or 2 extra "sub" stations. Very cool.

I'm also trying really hard to find a subwoofer that I can use to replace the stock woofer without changing anything, like find a bigger better woofer but with same power handeling, haveing absolutely no luck...

The hd radio is only for certain cities ..i.e like cali has a few hd channels but I d think you d have to install a anntena to recieve the receptions then pay for it like the satalite radio stations...oh and they cut out the minute you leave that city. Thats what my friend told me in cali that works at a station that also broadcasts in hd. He told me to avoid it and get satalite radio if I pay for music on the go. Or just get pandora and use your iphone, thats what I m doing..but I have 5gb a month for the data plan...
