bingo. i've go the same setup. i use it to browse the internet and stuff as well. there will be no competition unless other consoles put a hard drive in too, but i doubt that will happen.

ON TOP OF THAT, if you just wanna buy the hdd pack (not the game pack) i believe, unless they've changed it, that it comes with a keyboard, mouse, and LINUX!... and now with the eyetoy... christ, the system's gonna rock!

i just finished putting my xbox in my car this weekend. 5.6" Power Acoustik LCD and a nice little power inverter. Total cost was $85, 60 for the screen and 25 for the inverter.

 

yeah great, how big is the HDD? as i said, i have a 120GB, i've seen people connect multiple HDDs with a switch too, and you can go to any computer store and just buy it off the shelf for MUCH cheaper per gig than sony would sell you theirs.

my buddy has a 120 giger in his and he's got hellified games and emulators, we were playing mike tysons punchout on his xbox then we played ninja gaiden double dragon xbox w/ a mod chip is pimp thats what i'm putting in my car for shows

yes, i know about all the mods you can do to the xbox, but guess what... those mods can take you SO FAR..... ur xbox live?... SHOT cuz you can't use it n e more unless you install a switch that turns off all the mods that way BILLY GATES can't smell what you're cooking...

easiest way to do the mods.... open it up, and think of it as a pc, YES... u said it best... xbox = mini-pc... and that's where gates went wrong... what's easy to mod? A PC... and they wonder why ppl are able to copy the games already hahah....

what's fun about the modding aspect of the xbox is... u can back up your games INTO the hdds' themselves so u won't need a disc to run the ****ers, on top of that... the reading speed is a hell of a lot faster and better...

oh and about LIVE on your system getting shot... only other way to get on would be with a tunnel proggy... which bites... cuz you'd have no more head unit use... which sux serious ****....

only reason to buy an xbox = LIVE!.. and the live games... why? cuz OF THE CHALLENGES!....

and about installing a regular hdd on to a ps2... IF YOU WERE WONDERING... guess what... U CAN DO IT! LOL HAHHA... nuff said? i think so... i'm not gonna tell y'all how cuz i'm anti modding for the ps2 cuz it's already great as it is

 

i don't like xbox live. i play games with my friends or by myself.

i had ps2, the laser broke, try and fix that. good luck finding a new drive or getting it repaired by sony for less than $100.
if something breaks in my xbox, i'll go to the store and buy a new one. plus you really can't argue that it has better performance. the only thing ps2 has going for it over xbox is a couple games that don't get ported to xbox, but xbox has a couple games that don't get ported to ps2.

and as far as i'm concerned, for putting a system in a car, xbox is the way to go. it's much sturdier and will hold up to travelling with you in your car better than ps2. also the ease of modding make it a prime choice.

and yeah, i can install a freakin ***** on my xbox if i want, it doesn't mean it's easy or effective. and the being able to install games onto the hdd and play them off there is KEY.

 

just to add, this is not true. they have a bios that can be used with live...x2 4981. anyway, i don't use live, so it doesnt matter. xbox rocks.
