I just put mine in the cubby hole under the a/c controls. I'll post pics in a little while, my mom has my digital camera, but I guess I can take a low quality camera phone pic. Hang on I'll be right back. I have seen a cupholder for it that I'm thinking about getting. here is the link

Here are the quick pics, and yes I know it is kind of getto riged with the ultra long connector coming out of the front of the stereo, but the sound quality is sooooo much better that way than with one of those fm transmitters. I had a FM transmitter and hated it. Either way the ipod rocks hands down.

If you just got it be care full they are just like the iBook and scratch real easy, get a case with a screen protector asap. I got mine at compusa for like $25 and it came with a belt clip and a work out arm strap thingy. I also got some of those clear film protector sheets that people use on their PDAs for added protection on the screen. For like $15 you get a pack of 12, but when you cut the sheets to fit the ipod screen you really have 24 since the screen is half the size of a PDAs screen. Have fun and enjoy!

Yeah it was a pretty ****ing big design flaw but if you buy the extra extended waranty (which I plan to do) you shouldn't have a problem, apple just replaces it for free. Besides I got the ipod for christmas from my dad.

Apple has always been on top of the game and setting the standards for the competition though. I take it your a Windows person so I'll just rant a little and tell a little about the history of the PC. Mac came out first with the GUI (graphical user interface) with overlaping "windows" and took the mouse mainstream when others were still DOS and key command dependant. Apple introduced the first pc with color graphics, were the fist pc manufacturer to reach a billion dollars in annual sales, released the first laptop essentialy in 1989, the Newton which was the first PDA that had handwriting recognition that turned jotted notes into text, and you could even check your e-mail on it in 1993. Way ahead of it's time. They introduced the iPod 3 years ago now and it is still one of the top sellers in the MP3 player market. And to top it all off Adobe made Pagemaker(now Indesign) and Photoshop only for the Mac when they first came out, and if not for a developer on an Apple not much of this website, internet, or mass media would look as they do or be where they are at now. Granted many Windows based computers now run alot of the same apps as the Mac and vice versa, I would say that 90% (just my guess) of the Graphic Design and Media community uses Macs to build their websites, publish their newspapers, edit and produce their TV shows, Movies, and Music. I have never worked for a company that didn't use Mac's in their production departments. 9 times out of 10 Apple does it right. So Yea Apple.

Man that was longer than I thought it was going to be. No offense to the Windows people out there, you guys get all the good games sooner. I'm just a pretty die hard mac fan. If this even makes it to the ipod thread with out being killed by a mod, sorry for going off topic. If anyone wants to continue in a Mac/PC conversation lets do it in the off topic forum. Just start a thread and I'll be there. Again sorry for the Off-Topicness of this post.

FYI, Apple has a battery replacement policy. If I remember, it is $99 for a new battery. You send it in or take it to an Apple store. This was done in response to the people who complained. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.

Probably still cheaper than buying loads of AA batteries over the same time period.

It is only $99 if it is out of it's 1 year or 3 year extended waranty. If it is in the waranty period it will be covered. But hey if I have my I pod for more than 3 years I'll be ready to get a newer model I'm sure. And yeah it beats the hell out of AA Batteries.

thats great and all but i never said anything about macs, just the ipod. But now that its up in the air, I don;t care who was first, i just care whos leading now... and PC is so much more widespread than macs. all the graphics people and designers use your macs, but theres nothing special about a machine better at things i don't personally do, while PCs are better at doing the things i do. i don;t really care, unless i'm personally forced to use a mac, then i'd be pissed...i don;t mind others useing macs just keep them away from me.

Yeah, Evo Spec VIII that's cool. I don't really have anything aginst Windows users or the macines, I think pretty much the same way you do. PC's and Macs are best suited for the person using them, just don't expect me to be willing to use one if I don't have to. I guess I'm so use to hearing people generalize one Apple product with the other, when as you said the iPod has nothing to do with the Mac as a computer. Oh, well, glad your looking out for the people in the lancer community by giving them a heads up on the battery if the didn't know about it already. By the way here is the link to that video with the tech support guy talking about the battery cost vs the cost of a new iPod.

FYI I use my ipod everyday and I have had mine for the pas 2 years and I still get 10+ hours out of my battery. Its because people do not know how to charge Li batteries properly. To each his own I guess. I love my ipod

just a side note. i heard within the next few monts all the Ipod's and mp3 players are going down drasticly in price since all theese major pc companies are getting together on this and going totry and sell mp3's as well.

so hopefully they will only be like 100$ soon

Yeah, I heard that too. I think the iPod Mini will go down to about $150 and the iPod might break at $250 or so. I still cant see why Apple set its price for the iPod Mini so high. Realy would you like to be paying $250 for 4Gb's or for $50 more get 15Gbs. You do the math, it's not like the regular iPod is that big anyways. But hey if Apple is making money off it.
